A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:

$ b. ~- I6 b ~4 G) X0 l' _% x• Standard Child Care First Aid
/ e4 ]2 \: V4 A7 B4 \• WHMIS
2 w( ^/ T7 ^3 p8 t• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care6 e* G* S/ {' x2 C3 P r3 c! L
• Components to improve communication skills$ s$ |. R; @4 L8 B2 m2 Y* z% N
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria
5 u/ y3 s" ?- B1 X5 F• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
8 f3 \+ i" M0 r" E% `8 F( Dof Canada9 I' ?2 U: i/ t6 E2 O$ f: i
• have a Social Insurance Number
: M5 l4 R6 b, t1 x+ q$ V• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check" W7 g4 ]1 R4 s! Q
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
7 A& T7 M$ B, W0 y• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time7 [% t/ o6 F* x. S$ S+ @; q

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet! S% H2 U, B8 {7 W1 ^; Y
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:& R$ r! O" n$ Q( C7 B% X( q( [
• be unemployed or underemployed.1 R" H1 W! B: ?$ y( T
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
