A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.7 a* g: x6 \ m
The program includes the following elements:

• Standard Child Care First Aid/ p S% m9 i# p1 l8 X
• WHMIS
+ H% r0 P! e8 y1 X5 M• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
8 B( j( `6 u `/ z% c0 Y! Z• Components to improve communication skills
- h5 D) f* u2 Y4 o% A5 Z( {& B+ V1 z• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search. A3 S; {7 k j, [* }
• Practicum Placements
8 A2 H# B+ i3 \( T" C# vEligibility Criteria
c+ d: ?5 a4 J. K9 e• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
r5 ]2 ]- X7 d; e2 Aof Canada
6 R. n, W$ A0 r( q& ^+ K8 ?: H9 U• have a Social Insurance Number
7 f& [: @( m! Y$ j• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check/ ~* q4 J+ {' }2 g$ Z# u( X
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent- a7 i& N2 a% [1 ]
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time9 T' G8 P1 y5 k0 t! _" i
program
* `- e! z) T4 |# l; mParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
# r6 ?) V2 Z) l& E; k2 Y! C6 k4 x k' ithe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:3 h I7 B( {! |6 [* R. T; v
• be unemployed or underemployed.9 T2 d. N! @. n
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
* M9 i) r* `, G" \' w• meet the financial eligibility criteria
