A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.% P% k1 T. z6 l9 ^* B$ \- P
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and: C' n! h# q# D9 x: w& b9 v U, y
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)

+ p% O0 N2 y; N% g• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care" l7 |* E5 e& Z( D- u+ t
• Components to improve communication skills1 H0 `# R7 k: W7 [5 |! E
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria7 o: ]8 G9 D2 c) c4 q9 z6 J
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen H8 ^/ n, j. b: R
of Canada
& l, j9 e1 Z5 v2 d& I0 w7 Q• have a Social Insurance Number
3 g4 z# F+ O {4 U• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
( a4 {3 L0 f/ x0 {2 j4 u1 V• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
* u: M; R& e& T3 g/ |3 _5 r• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
# G& h% l& R, R1 @1 T+ Ythe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
* E& `4 `1 G: T7 s) R5 f# g• be unemployed or underemployed.; G, z Y( M" r9 ^) m0 I
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
* z8 r$ Y: _$ \- I a7 X$ E) I• meet the financial eligibility criteria, Z9 @, k- a# x% Z6 Q
