A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

9 J$ x c: h# ]5 c; k# b' Gknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.' j! X" ]& f5 ]/ p! u& d
The program includes the following elements:

0 X' n' M: \6 ]8 g7 \) G9 f• Standard Child Care First Aid. v" C+ @: A/ M" h. J
• WHMIS( Z+ |" i3 Y/ K6 _- B
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
& n6 i [* `8 r8 D5 Y5 X/ i• Components to improve communication skills8 E2 z3 ^, n1 y1 F- Z
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

1 u4 m) z6 z( s* e9 `• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
( o% f( S* j1 D, Q. X% G4 ^5 z& @, v4 \of Canada
) J v8 K! G: j' T& u8 \• have a Social Insurance Number+ l+ c% L) o( A0 z7 n' O! R$ n
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check1 [ f; a% b* \: K6 G( y
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent$ v( n* M5 X' O7 W
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time6 q5 N7 V9 Y- i) d

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
% O5 n8 P, v1 o8 B4 Pthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
) R6 O1 A3 ~: O6 a, E" z+ v• be unemployed or underemployed.* E: X7 q+ ~1 [" o, q8 P
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
7 K3 P* f& q6 y }3 e• meet the financial eligibility criteria
