Duties

' w: M# N: w) p9 L+ `/ @3 n& g    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program3 j5 V, n! D* p6 X! W
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
6 v7 B5 S' i: C8 Z; C    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
& Y4 H. n5 @% L7 \; K6 f% a5 d9 {    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat4 F3 k$ K4 e  `% X: h4 P
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders7 {- B! M+ p/ c+ g; P5 u+ ?
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements/ m, G6 [, S1 J& u- ]! M1 `2 Y2 i
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs( i* g% M6 V( \+ k; e' ?
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
: B0 j  p+ x$ }! f$ B    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
6 C- W: [6 a  G, @# k    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
1 A7 ?5 z- `, w# ]    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media$ h; L- H$ J/ U0 O* z
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results& s0 n5 q: _' h% n3 c3 S& k! u0 i
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies1 I% n6 T+ U! {4 f+ P  J

Qualifications
/ F8 G8 ?' V( T% `" y, e9 X% c- u: }, _
    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred. O5 \) w- G5 ?  ^
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth) _+ P# \& H. u6 U2 k, X
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
! i7 N1 n. g6 z* i. X    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies3 z5 M; l3 d, u( L1 I+ v6 n: V
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
" i4 r' S$ f5 x3 o# P% A4 y    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning. e8 ^0 F# o3 b, c3 c- ~
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation). Q! U* G8 x3 ^, m/ _) w3 z
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
