Duties
) @+ v+ Q! G: R* V3 ^' }$ t% O( c0 Y& i, F; G! \$ |
    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
4 r8 N& w1 f" p3 @7 q* }! w    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
# u% O7 a, l9 p0 W; u6 O6 `    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes/ [; Q3 V& P* H% R  A- F$ b) ?
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
! Q+ L- p2 q" d8 i1 z    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders4 o8 K3 P/ A& Y1 q; G1 r
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements. E# b& b! o: I) F7 G0 ?
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
- M4 }. |5 m* d6 _4 U' m    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director7 q) q! ~( h  D6 T0 X$ \' Z7 X' x' P
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning7 w0 ]$ `7 E3 ?, B' M
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials: F1 C6 q5 c3 m3 q" n, _6 B( Q
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media: ]. S, Q( G4 ^" D3 f' J, L4 u
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
. ~( v' k0 q" `( L- u1 b3 A; y    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

# n9 c! W' Z+ P* S    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
. V6 ~% p6 B3 w% u& Z    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth5 E7 U3 e0 I/ q1 R1 c
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
' Y/ @( x$ D  |2 ?. B, D    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies* ]. J% u9 _( _1 p& g+ C8 ^$ K+ |
    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
% y7 L# k) h! `8 U; B    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning: f& A& h/ b8 ~
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)5 I& y6 \* Q2 k: m5 M
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills6 ~& O" |4 O( \! c
