* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
" K5 g t7 e0 |+ E+ W' Q. T * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities/ t y1 g; g. D
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
( l* z$ I% Y6 n% V: [% v * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
; q D2 t; A M' J: n * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders6 J4 P# b7 E' }+ g% U
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements6 ~% P0 b3 H! F& w# S' R, K
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
4 p6 a; A# R( e3 g- Z1 C! B2 ^$ S * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
- k8 n5 f/ {! _( j7 m4 }2 f/ b * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
$ m5 J( j" J; Z8 Z) C8 N * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
7 V& J) h U( S: u; C! \ * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
/ E* M/ }: e: a$ |7 J" D$ n: H( V * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results

Qualifications

/ S9 _4 j4 ]7 F6 N& N+ i * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred. b f) C; }0 ?: i" F) W) m
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth/ S" O+ v; [) S6 e
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset1 ~" X% T8 |" n6 i0 C6 o8 a
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies5 A- P* h' h7 l7 K6 p% G
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills2 ?- `( l. e; z9 o9 q
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning _8 c0 D( M q7 S6 b
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
