: H6 _- ^4 h! F8 Y% Q- t8 w: t6 |$ x: F    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region) ], i2 O1 D1 r
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
" m/ r* F4 S& R9 E. P5 H* M    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators7 a8 ]4 u5 _1 }7 R, m2 v6 X
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
/ G4 U3 j$ s# j, G9 N4 c. H. d    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director4 ]$ L. ^  }9 s* x" C
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
: q1 ]- v3 i& S0 ?+ _) M    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
- k2 H5 j, u: Z    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program% H, w" d8 Y- s9 U, p+ z% \
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment% T1 l) j- B: L: |- Z! r" q
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
% [& {0 f9 p' w# P; c6 E0 S, |    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
1 u2 ]* _. u# G; o$ j    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
; Y  q% o" g0 I  G6 A0 f! b    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities" \! S0 {. x- _. A" d- k
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications# Q! C7 i" L6 N3 g9 o# X
( Z9 ]) t- \; \6 m+ L; K) y
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline3 T0 o3 F- ~, i5 _' W
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth7 d1 q& W* ~2 F! I  M
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
4 e2 _) L% m# h: _; J, R    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
$ h. c1 A8 u( ~( A' m    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

3 m' n7 \( d0 Z    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills  I. v$ ]& K: H; K5 V6 ~
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills" t) d2 L; i, ^" ?! v
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
