    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
- ?; M3 _6 i: O3 F6 u) Q  W    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group& u5 ]2 w! z! `$ ~3 C7 P/ A
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators* e% D9 z+ D! y" \& _' i" R9 E
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
# Y3 `+ U4 }9 e/ r4 s# r    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director9 g$ _9 r! Y  Z  i7 E. x
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses2 {! j6 k# @) q7 J
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
; i$ n  ^' p3 K& U6 j( p+ ]    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program6 l4 S- L  v8 s' A) o
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
% s8 J$ z% @$ n; ]! x: U    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
! L5 J1 l+ d& v# E  H9 t; m$ f; z9 t    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
# D7 n3 |( @/ B# O    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications: M# ?1 m9 I; P/ I6 v6 j" r

" j2 Y$ n% I- [; ]0 [    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline9 z) ^. g& |3 P4 i' A6 ~& T9 n
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth. z' S( W) @* y( F& ]+ J7 |8 B
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies4 K8 T  p! k+ b. ]* I
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
+ S1 @! p0 x* \0 V+ q    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community$ j& }9 N# E$ S* w0 C8 k) g% U; W
    * Fundraising skills an asset: l/ ^; V; M" B8 h% L) X* }0 U
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills/ ?+ K* S8 D  T! `
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills

    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
