    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region; I% y) U" \6 h" `4 N" Y
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group* A: P& B7 N; ?- G% d/ T- {$ Y
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators' H. |+ B; J6 \
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations& f( o7 r7 S8 g! Q; k$ x
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
# Y" S! i$ G6 b( o9 G    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses! h( j5 m* ]# P% G; y$ b  o( u
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
& \2 m& @* q+ I/ y: n    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program0 q" x, F: z, ~. j/ \! n! F, H/ f
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
2 `# t& J; Q, Z1 T  d# L    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
/ Y/ ?' W5 W' d5 w7 R' z4 n    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs( y3 T. F7 m; ~8 H  d* P& x/ m
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly! ]: q- T' n! U& S' A' x
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
" q  V3 [2 \1 ^  ^$ R+ k- b/ t    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools8 X5 S' @' M8 ~

Qualifications
7 [+ x+ h% w7 ^; l- s6 q( I; i  i  x) c& Q
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline% P4 U3 T1 N* M
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
# R8 |( n: L; S; p9 `% n" A, B! Z    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
  d: r& {& Z) z$ O% d    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs5 w7 W1 R6 h( c1 J1 O
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community" O9 `" s% F7 X. I* D, \2 I. O- t
    * Fundraising skills an asset9 a# A7 ?# G! Y' o" @
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
/ V' U. @5 A% z2 J1 Q! n2 f$ G% d    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills' y% L* ]# x$ v% B9 |+ i. ?
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
7 O% \8 ]2 X1 b5 I9 t0 g) t  d    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills7 }6 H- V! J+ s
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
