    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
- ?; M3 _6 i: O3 F6 u) Q  W    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
# Y3 `+ U4 }9 e/ r4 s# r    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
; i$ n  ^' p3 K& U6 j( p+ ]    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
% s8 J$ z% @$ n; ]! x: U    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
! L5 J1 l+ d& v# E  H9 t; m$ f; z9 t    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
/ p, c/ @0 k8 M% x+ ], ~; m    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
# D7 n3 |( @/ B# O    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications

" j2 Y$ n% I- [; ]0 [    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
+ S1 @! p0 x* \0 V+ q    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
6 c/ u- T2 E0 i; j( v. T    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
