    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
! X' h& u) g- v* s5 R/ V    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
; L$ J! b, C% w+ c    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
# [. d# X7 Q: u, |' E. l    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations4 i8 q' f" s$ ?: f. @( `  g
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
, g4 E4 \# ~: v3 T3 p: Q) I    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses& U. c. N; c1 i  B( v  T0 J: t
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
& v" @- u3 i$ G- _5 o0 J  I    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program& P- w) w+ ?8 X- F) d
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment2 }7 J2 y: @' z5 d; Y
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports& H5 u2 U  D0 ^3 a+ _
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs4 s1 j+ B* r  E+ A% {+ Z  ~6 U5 S( M
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly" M& e, b: S6 w8 x
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities2 r! q' o* B+ S7 |% P: u2 c
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

9 Z# E, m  e  I    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline: t7 n) w4 i  B7 y/ Q
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth9 ]0 b( \  K& e3 M
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
: i1 S9 [2 B# d6 O) g    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
$ y3 V) L- d7 q7 O# n. G7 L    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

% Q5 @4 {- s3 g) p& T  c0 z% B    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
