    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region' y3 b& R3 b: p, v9 p; X: Q
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group; S7 B+ l7 y" L4 D; n' [
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators0 X& S8 I2 o% n7 T( H" }: H3 d
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
. J- z! L, m; e9 I    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
& K7 }# Y, S$ Z    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses4 Z& u7 P1 H* @. [1 ]
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth4 i# s' z) G1 Y2 B5 F6 V
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program( s7 A  u8 {7 c- `; M% }; e7 w" E
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment* V& V. C8 g- V0 R0 O1 m5 L
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports: b' P, [$ B8 F/ h, B
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
" @# `! k# M& K$ S# W/ A    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
, T1 n: T0 \; F! J& E! H0 |: }
4 q" V9 [& L1 l" d# ?( Z    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
8 p: ~: _$ i/ Z! I4 R- z: e    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
* W* J. R3 {5 c! f4 }    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies1 p* s1 s! e! v8 I& E3 l# l
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs( [: ^; h* q( D) f7 ?9 p
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
2 h$ u/ l9 F, b# F3 z: i    * Fundraising skills an asset
, w+ \( W# b( m; X% i    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills

    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
