4 Y- Q4 _& j8 Q* wContext: Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a nonprofit immigrant serving agency. The New Neighbours Program provides services aimed at facilitating the settlement/integration of newcomers into Canadian society. 5 Y4 r5 Q# c2 o. _# j0 s s! ]! p

Key responsibilities: overseeing the day-to-day activities/operations of the program; recruitment, training & supervision of volunteers for the program; recruitment/orientation of participants; matching newcomers with community volunteers & monitoring the matches; planning other program activities; maintain computer dBase record of services/activities.3 O. O7 a+ u+ U8 A2 P0 M0 F$ D* U
" E s, O- S4 {! T) fPLUS: act as a resource person; fulfill program accountability requirements; collaborate, network with other organizations /professionals liaison with ethno-cultural & immigrant community organizations; represent EISA at meetings and functions related to the program.

6 D# L, I: J# H5 i5 Y1 h* V VKey Qualifications - Degree or Diploma in social work, social sciences or related areas. > Special requirements include: 2-3 years experience in program coordination; excellent interpersonal/communication skills, cultural sensitivity; knowledge & experience in volunteer management; good knowledge of available community resources/services. & p0 F+ s6 w$ |+ Y( D

PLUS: demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; experience working with immigrant families and/or settlement services, community development or non-profit org. an asset. % K" v+ R4 m8 y; v+ m9 b* ^
