Position: Regional Program Coordinator - Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries Project / Location: Edmonton / Status: Contractual Full-time, 35 hrs week / Closing Date: July 11, 2008./ x9 a& ^7 ^9 P/ X. E/ n" ]: ^

- n5 y" m- |. F- b$ C, QEISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels. ! o2 T3 @6 {) I7 R, l

1 @5 [& C0 M8 v8 U1 CIn order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray.

, d4 O/ n2 [$ h+ U# c: s, mKey responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.$ e  k1 f' M( e2 S( O! R
$ L. e9 y8 r: p/ X( E! P; Z
PLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project;  promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.

Key Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French.
