Position: Regional Program Coordinator - Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries Project / Location: Edmonton / Status: Contractual Full-time, 35 hrs week / Closing Date: July 11, 2008.* g. v. L0 g- s- D- @

: @! D' P5 Z4 k' l6 n' |6 FEISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels. ) `9 I# `' i9 L) P! K6 g* v5 A

5 x9 L' l* D: f! t5 N+ g/ hIn order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. . o# c! H& O" a6 ?  g

6 |0 _( h/ I  tKey responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.4 k- n+ L) ]! P. L5 c5 s

" V$ Q, D' t3 |2 wPLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project;  promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.

Q9 P1 i/ \( f3 [Key Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French.
