H2 p- K5 ]/ v A4 p( H" o, P * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
3 ^" w1 Q9 f( |& D- B4 y1 Y+ m * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography U; B9 D7 o- ~1 t: y& T" d
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques! g; W: a/ i- a/ p @7 W
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client9 h4 X" n& w+ e1 R C! {! V
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
* P' B, L% g! W5 g! P- Y9 x * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals* a/ ^2 c# Q+ K2 z3 I
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
; N ~0 s( K1 ]$ y+ X+ I * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
, ~0 n2 t; L$ y G2 [: T * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS) F. y4 \8 D* a, g

Qualifications
! v6 i3 o! r# d( ^+ n k
% Z. K8 ~# w- U% w* V1 Z& `; G * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
. A/ a4 o( R, `% D2 w6 R * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
3 ]" f9 } h/ d i; ] * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel8 X {$ K2 g/ ?% Z
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
