* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis- ?% s q& V* n9 Q1 v7 T
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
4 q2 d* G& g/ j! N( g, w * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques. K. w5 i! A- a, l
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
) u F0 F4 A9 u2 `' Z+ r( h; R. [, U( l [ * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
4 R& |( F- B' Q0 t& ]& p: o9 F6 R! n * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
m9 l6 \4 C3 D- _% x! Z8 [- e * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)/ T' a$ C" I4 ~; k* z6 r
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel" a% x- [, G. \9 c+ v7 s3 l' T9 O
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
