+ E. _4 ~3 r, U7 J) v1 ^- X" ]Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 5 q3 S9 e# f0 c8 m: [5 ~

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
7 Y6 W( F6 y" w1 Z, k+ u( O- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
/ S4 q: z; N& Q& J: h; n# x0 d- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services# I- q$ C( W9 ], K
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies* _& U. d/ e+ s8 {2 Q, G
- coordinate good will activities
$ X8 Z* L6 ~+ o: I- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
2 R. q$ v- t. ]' K1 m u( i- submit information for community news
8 ?; P$ O4 ^- T* A: d) k" B7 E- prepare and send AGM information to members r' Z& x" O0 l' r% A
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.
1 i) t s" g M- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre/ C8 }( b1 n# _1 @( i
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services' j7 w7 K4 r! ~0 f# p% d
- assist in writing proposal for ISP0 t0 @( C3 T% B2 `
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
% \3 p3 v% V$ r$ W- explore new ideas for ISP
. _ g4 L3 i. [3 ~. G- hold regular meetings with ISP team
8 Y8 T3 F$ z! t# v+ C/ ~$ ^- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

/ O& U8 q) h1 a6 ^8 `7 T: V- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education ( }( f* g, T5 p% B5 X& ]
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
0 L1 d8 k6 t) b& h5 p/ @- experience in community work and immigrant services* t7 b. j, D3 ?- N. H) _7 d9 @2 i6 c
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars% Z; N# ]) {) G9 I; J ?0 w) p
