( E+ H/ j2 i7 g) D3 |7 o8 c% ~Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

" A( n( S/ G; i& V8 G* S- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services5 R0 @2 K3 s' R5 n; J, ?3 `
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services- n" L8 `7 z7 p
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
0 ^! P& M- _" }- submit information for community news

) M4 k* M4 o7 M* h/ m- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
+ Y& |3 o6 X0 H; b- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

! S1 R- ]: f- v2 O- hold regular meetings with ISP team

Qualifications
W# r: L+ t& I* D3 G- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education " T7 U1 J( v' F6 N! R% F3 W
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; i8 y! ]3 m u0 J2 N6 U+ }- experience in community work and immigrant services- X( h" c: B4 ?/ K
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
( e+ j& Q4 Y2 w0 F, }- leadership skills% n9 D# ]6 z" }, ?/ J% r
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
