Z) z9 x/ k* APosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services) c; F8 |: P+ H+ S& C
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
6 }+ _" U( @" W- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies E s; Q4 |& f1 H) S# a( ?
- coordinate good will activities' j7 R& G3 p% l5 b' p
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

: b1 z2 \. E! z; U: |& v- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 I9 P0 _! p( g
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services9 j8 G: [8 N9 E' G2 E: G2 i
- assist in writing proposal for ISP) o9 m9 f' h+ [
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time7 j7 n3 z# Z9 T1 w3 I$ i9 Z: w
- update membership database

Qualifications
! C' ]9 Q8 ~/ p5 ]/ O- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education & D# q: o: [" l2 l6 u0 _8 ^$ |
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* f' c4 v; j0 D6 |% e5 U; R- experience in community work and immigrant services- G1 H- a i' T
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
$ e" |1 M9 u7 `! K- leadership skills9 o6 |- C& `; a4 q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills& k+ u# O2 F/ E5 H% D
