Job Description

•        reports directly to the Board of Directors
# ]+ O( f0 {6 y3 r4 S•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals
! E  ?4 R+ o( ]9 p•        is fiscally accountable to the Board with all projects and administration of the agency within an approved budget by the Board
. `2 |# Q8 t- F' @* z•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency ' d1 ]1 k" I  w5 l% ?# Q
•        is accountable to meet community expectations and funders’ requirements ! t: ]( O4 p  G
•        develop/review and administer operational policies and procedures
) J+ M& g7 c! ~' R$ X•        development and management of the programs budget

•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers
. Q1 I& _- @+ p( g* u! v•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions4 Q7 i) V6 U/ @  [
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators* W/ ?  ^% A' v  M& e1 d0 B
•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth7 ?, y; c; u5 \  m5 ?
•        meet with staff on regular basis" a0 b6 e' {- ?2 V5 m+ w
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff% Y8 ~' ~7 O8 u- [: Q- P; f. J  c

•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services

•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders+ j& {$ H) c+ Z9 G, X1 p5 A* a# \
•        set program priorities and directions 7 q5 ?1 p. h" X4 e6 e
•        identify community and user needs and trends# V5 X  y9 w- w$ W0 h9 Q
•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends9 ]5 i/ @( W6 g9 q
•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research
" f4 B+ n7 t3 f- b1 h2 S•        maintenance of appropriate reporting

•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development  D0 q3 U( t5 ~
•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others, k  [8 l  n  j/ f: W& ]

9 D& |3 ]4 W; Z•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities) I" J+ x8 K6 r5 H1 s6 P+ F  W$ n0 P
•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders
- Q: z% T0 a; g5 P4 I1 b' p3 z2 x•        communicate the value of the organization to the public6 H, b" c, ?  b
•        identify community needs and trends
) ?1 U9 m5 C8 t) |3 ?6 M•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups7 Q/ D3 c: ?/ \7 Q/ D: _- g
•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups
5 X' e9 d- o) d- Y! {/ U2 N•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.+ _; R  g4 k8 p
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff' \/ P- F5 X! |) P

% o, z2 J- g, W. u+ K1 JQualifications
# x3 b& F! ^, @! }0 k- ~4 j-        University degree in a related field;
, }" i! O* r! Z  S, X-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;+ W) G8 c2 ^# p5 K7 e+ V
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management;
! ]  t4 F7 f/ C: ?8 o9 @-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization % ^8 w3 d; ~+ ]/ t0 ~

Salary
; ]& w; K$ C3 ^-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits , U8 v& f7 s: h* |3 Y
