Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities7 R+ L( l! J8 o+ ?7 |7 y
- submit information for community news 3 K/ B! B1 v$ ?/ Y! C( E) P
- provide volunteers to update membership database
9 t0 `1 ]! i& x$ F, r% W$ J% Q- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers; W' d8 ~6 w4 J6 w/ Q5 m
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties9 Y* _% c3 y0 {
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties5 p4 k( v. `* z
- provide volunteers for various programs ) b: u. Z( D( N" K. Z
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
8 M! p$ H& P1 w" c# x J6 @- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
9 T$ i6 t J7 O2 X- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities( I0 ?- Y6 B% P( M1 t
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services8 J% g9 v7 ? H% E- Z
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
: t5 s" X9 ] X/ A- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed- Z- ]& y- s) p$ }0 r0 L
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
K$ \. j7 v1 H2 h' e5 j7 u- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)' `. J( ?; r9 l7 n
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
/ F1 \) d6 A- U3 T- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
2 d; Y/ r, ~5 l& Z4 ^- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
) y' Z- T9 L/ }9 C7 p" _; H+ i- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
. Z* q4 |8 W6 ~7 x) H- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
0 e5 ?; B! D) h- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
& S8 @5 G, \& G. Q- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
a6 D, G+ t- n, {4 n5 V: H& Q) V- leadership skills& N. e& \0 O& O9 h+ w
- management and supervision skills% z1 @3 r2 P \6 E9 A+ F+ }# s
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
