Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
" |& v( E& m7 {- submit information for community news
3 m8 W& A! b" q+ y+ G6 x# q3 s- provide volunteers to update membership database9 ^* f7 a! M. Q, v/ B
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers; a% o, w0 A: i+ H0 y# w2 Q# m
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties5 b y4 N8 q/ h
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties) V- f+ g7 n5 I7 V/ A
- provide volunteers for various programs ( b; r6 S% L$ [ H/ ?
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
4 Q/ m/ O2 N; C0 J. |/ m$ K- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation$ K5 g! N& g( K5 Z3 i7 `& V
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities) v' Z- U, l- N5 ]
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
+ Q" H. ]- h) R' p# {- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports8 Z# f9 m, ]; d8 n A
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
; w1 ] D- E6 [# ~* Z% l, n- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed: K3 f8 l, k P/ h, G
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)$ ?) `) S: W% s+ P5 X
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
$ x$ W$ `: M. _0 b# G8 {3 Z U+ H; v- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
- E6 C9 W, h( Z& f2 B- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers

- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications* y0 N* ?! h, t$ F% `' k% d
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
0 \, ~' O# E: f* p0 g- good oral and written Chinese and English skills0 @ }' \) I, `( `/ V# ~( B( n
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
& D: L7 s" {0 C$ l0 b+ a7 I- leadership skills/ z3 J, x( N' h" t( o; O) t
- management and supervision skills
' t; A# t( u3 R+ y- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
