Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator Z3 _9 ~. u* S8 P
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities& t0 V; e t- L8 f6 O
- submit information for community news
; ?, T4 J+ O4 R; n) t) ~- provide volunteers to update membership database6 |/ |+ U4 o/ C$ L3 y8 Q
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers% p0 p, J9 B8 ?0 O$ R& r0 Q W
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties, U7 j2 g5 q& v) P! h
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
\( X1 r* }4 S: z- provide volunteers for various programs - n$ H# d( X% L
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual2 T: E, T) Z4 M) k* C7 N
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation8 @4 o F) k, ]4 U0 G' @
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities" a( V3 o; g* H+ L& T
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
3 ~" L/ w! P* p$ Z- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
. P& {8 K( a3 h3 a7 `5 F- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed. j P0 r9 o+ c7 E
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
5 m# i' e8 ]& l7 W* a5 `- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
4 W0 U+ z( B6 c2 L- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 0 X0 e/ @( g! [
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual # Z* G9 u; g9 ^' D! r
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 7 v! b1 M% I, [( J6 m, w
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
4 H7 ~2 G2 U8 x! t6 H- G9 [- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis H; q3 J p3 W5 e
- evaluations 8 o" s, a _6 G" S; X
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications' B2 M2 f" a B9 S; t) C+ l
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education7 W: `; `# I4 K9 F
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" z9 d: [+ c9 |5 n- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! R7 }' X7 A1 s" }. f+ ]- leadership skills( a4 J7 Z3 Z% a/ U
- management and supervision skills
; {) V9 d- ^# b9 q1 N& p- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
