Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
& [0 t8 N8 Z9 ^ u: \( k- submit information for community news + \1 m" h$ _2 G c
- provide volunteers to update membership database
3 A- F& P; H. ]: E8 `- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
0 ~2 M7 S& Q; I6 u! N2 \# y0 y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
: j$ o; a! p6 {- E* e8 A- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties$ j. {& j% u) R- ]
- provide volunteers for various programs 9 {; W9 I/ z3 k; s3 t
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
1 f4 @3 |4 C5 _ x3 s- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
# z5 A; t: ^. p) x9 I/ V- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
* m! j; d, L4 W; {0 ~( I- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services3 V/ |; `4 B [4 g% \ [
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports: r9 [) Z. j. p) Q
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed# _' q% q8 H" \$ S2 ^1 p L
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
! f1 a* N; ~) }* P' b8 \7 F9 g6 T- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)$ n) C" V: L4 \* R: U7 F# H
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 8 E7 d" q2 p0 E! y T3 d
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
# _+ ^% X# a8 V! N- `- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers % T3 n2 a* d- \
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

- evaluations 8 z! x% w% D0 L6 b
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications% O: X1 q9 H t- Q; A! a# t
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education3 C$ b( L) H V$ H1 M
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills6 F+ c% I3 ?* R+ K5 y3 \
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
9 u! r1 u1 M$ E/ P- leadership skills) y, s4 H3 _' B+ n3 Q
- management and supervision skills
/ z5 v2 v& r9 X, Y4 e) z6 R0 f) [- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills! p' |" s+ |7 S' n# {' g
