Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
2 u* A7 K! x& N% o# ~- submit information for community news
j+ F; V+ z) ~. f- provide volunteers to update membership database
' K% w: T4 P8 n5 ]6 f7 u l0 ^6 g) A- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
( q7 s& W6 J/ c- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
; ?. P- V4 }, v8 A# j- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
; D: ?/ q' p) F- provide volunteers for various programs * U `' B+ P* I8 z/ L! Z$ u7 G5 T
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual* I( ?0 A" A; i( q: n$ M. {& f. Z
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
* v( ]- G0 }& A) v- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 U% Q! C7 P- q0 o3 z1 {
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ a6 q o( P$ S6 ?& R- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
7 N* M/ L6 m6 c( ~7 @ Z9 d. D% }- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed& l8 K" q9 N V' v; F# o m
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed6 n5 l8 V- |( F) x
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)4 P! [3 d( x4 G1 s' P
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ) Z) f. V ?$ Y9 G5 A& ~: M) D
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
* X! _* A* }$ E4 Q- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
/ j$ b, G7 s# D/ j+ r: R- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers : H: f; x6 B" w3 w& `7 \
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 9 Z5 y$ ?$ m+ f5 i; N2 q
- evaluations
8 g$ }% r, G$ U3 k- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre! W/ Q/ j3 [. p& |2 t/ j

& q. Z# y) b) J, N9 Y( {7 |- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
( H2 r: f m; i) `" X- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 O4 v4 g. M4 d1 Z- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
1 Q, X$ |7 K+ K0 a5 q" q- leadership skills, _! N- t! O3 W
- management and supervision skills
* k V! V5 [4 m ?! ~5 b* [/ @" J7 v( G- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
