About background check

My case:

7 Q' s, ^# g' X! `4 v4 FI sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

"We have requested background information from other government
  {% r0 Y; _5 e0 U: j2 d/ {0 uoffices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
4 r8 H: E' L1 J5 r9 B% @. [  Sof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
6 X* H1 P! [. M+ H/ c! bthe status of your application before this information is received."

Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。
