differential fee was increased by almost 20% last year. Add to this, 5 H9 L! r' G- U9 t4 B
the fact that the university housing has no more space for newcomers 4 e- N, { \, K$ b5 w
and most of the newly admitted students who applied for housing were
; H ^& v* W& M9 U% Rasked to look for a residence on open market.

0 o7 P2 S! D8 `5 `While the average cost of living for a typical graduate student has
$ i$ ~; b9 e8 c8 q& cincreased by something more than 70% percent we are getting paid

admission letter (18000 CAD + 1500 CAD for international students

tuition fee and taxes). To make the argument easy to understand just 8 O. M& K) c3 m4 d% l
imagine that a new student gets the same amount of money that I am

from different governmental and non governmental sources and graduate 4 o ]9 g3 b M
students are the main pillars of research work at the university.

is to question the adequacy of financial aid for graduate and 1 Y8 P% E2 \8 s5 F9 Y
especially international students. Isn抰 it time for the GSA to take

4 c' V3 ]! {; F- ~, ]initiative in raising the issue of increasing financial aid for
$ |+ F; \, L4 F9 Pgraduate students so that the can afford this increase in costs?
