600CAD/month plus utilities right now, some thing around 700CAD/month.

differential fee was increased by almost 20% last year. Add to this, + @% k1 B5 {& z+ [: D
the fact that the university housing has no more space for newcomers 9 _7 O& n6 I- U: g$ T
and most of the newly admitted students who applied for housing were

While the average cost of living for a typical graduate student has

exactly for the same amount of money that we were offered in our
0 Y( T8 d, u3 ]+ o: u1 o: ]( x( b# k) `admission letter (18000 CAD + 1500 CAD for international students
. J. a; p( R0 w/ P) V0 z=19500CAD. What I get is something around 1000CAD/month!!! after

admitted and has to incur at least 70% more in average living costs.

students are the main pillars of research work at the university.

My objective in bringing all abovementioned points in your attention
+ P* w7 L, t/ ^$ S6 ] Xis to question the adequacy of financial aid for graduate and
) m7 G1 R+ i& G1 v& O1 Mespecially international students. Isn抰 it time for the GSA to take; f! j' C1 x' s: Q R O; b
8 Z! |' V1 o4 a; B+ ?: x" v% @4 Ainitiative in raising the issue of increasing financial aid for
, D) U W$ f. }! jgraduate students so that the can afford this increase in costs?+ Y# G1 A* o8 j- k1 N
