DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:: n9 a6 u4 @; `' g! [
. f: O2 g$ G5 R4 \1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 2000

1 j6 F4 t4 }( j% s2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.# f2 U# O" p- B$ U. @: S8 w& L

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing 9 c) j9 @( C; q8 \$ i4 P6 [
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations 9 @/ ^+ o8 @. Q: m- L9 B0 L
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.1 N+ ~1 x% `7 F( L

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a
5 B( ~3 _3 n1 [- e% v& _2 X' Iminimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,
0 K5 l- p2 h1 @3 ?$ v$ hfrom the first working day after nominations close until the last day
5 h U! U7 Q2 a/ }1 V n4 B2 w+ Mof voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.8 W% W+ _ q& g( k' x2 u" P
m8 h& y0 }! p, @( f/ ]* I$ P11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during , Z0 \: R8 z, }" P, m
the course of an election/referendum.

( v$ R3 J* O, |/ @3 z12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting
& K$ v9 \/ X X" M) qprocess is in place.

0 v! b" i, X% _6 q6 ~13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report $ o- E* [- ]) g4 f2 V* T
of activities and recommendations.

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

15) Perform other job related duties as required by the Council 7 P% m! G2 R# o, J

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course
$ u) F* o1 y5 Yfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students' $ L- H5 c0 I+ l/ ^, E. s" G/ w
Union member.# |, G& B# s8 m* w& S
' T6 q! v `7 C3 q5 I
2) Must have some experience in student elections.5 f, c( J9 l2 P: u3 [9 \' M' c; u# u
) A* z. c T, {8 f; ~) u3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
# B! f: _; k) O6 B, Tany of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position ( C% O. K' a" m0 Q( P8 }" W
with the Students' Union.

4) Willingness and ability to work varying hours./ _$ s' j& B+ Y' A! U7 q( u
