1 k' A* M  g0 p) k  S9 \society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more

- a% ?" _, f8 M" {% d! ~/ QPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
7 f4 l2 X2 b) @& \2 o% Xand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
  g+ c$ `* t% g- w+ uworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
7 x" \+ ]% O& h. z) r5 Y! g$ E: cpolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
' r% r: z) c3 }8 harrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
  U: v+ X9 C# ~) ^8 u$ N+ O) mmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
: o: e; P: N/ ^. v# Z  Bas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
! h3 Q5 e/ n) E6 y" h5 Kthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
6 u( ?( j* x5 }# S, }that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
* F% c. m2 \7 @1 Rpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
% _- |2 W1 G$ O: i( K( ?partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
% T$ x! O5 h$ Worganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
8 H4 S. U5 V: [' T4 lwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
8 n4 ?; ?" m0 W2 s. pprocesses an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
/ v3 w5 Z5 a5 y1 Sproposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
