ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks

Position Responsibilities8 [# E; _! W0 ~3 H7 s, s
3 i I: v! [3 m S: s7 R) c& _Community Initiatives Documenter4 Z) ?. p O- S+ k# R8 G
The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.8 ]1 ~$ t& B6 g" z

i7 h$ F* U4 g1 ~$ r; A# ]5 h& H1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
0 `3 A) W8 v" }- S0 s! s% e2 m2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
4 K8 E$ S8 |; L4 Q& ~& h3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
! M1 }8 c) S( P: J: U2 Y' ?4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
