ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Responsibilities
& g5 O5 J) N( X2 H+ p
! L# q  v! w1 \Community Initiatives Documenter
& I1 c) B- q, C0 B' sThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

6 K$ V' c. d2 X/ k0 C& A# EEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
$ @7 D! N) j" S$ g2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
( e8 O8 b: e: X, V( j, L3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
/ S+ }$ ]: L0 L7 Q" |; M4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
