ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Salary: $12.00 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Responsibilities

: x+ E. b- v6 L9 _( \& |  pThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

  c; ?  h' `" N' F+ u# B5 tEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

) \1 H% o7 N/ S% F! r+ Q5 c1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
- Y0 E2 U& b/ r2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
; t1 F  E4 G5 p, L! t9 z+ F4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
