  K- [9 P1 y  E4 ]0 p+ d22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
; m3 u; R3 {8 y$ h7 m) C  A4 hthrough Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  0 G" B: t& e( B' n
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  7 |3 b8 X4 l8 `. D% Q* D
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  3 D8 j1 W) N. F) E
cleanliness and order in the bar.
, W* d2 I2 ~' t+ t: s, l& W. j9 s' E6 ~
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
" C3 W5 ^: R$ _, k. g- s, e1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
. U& |) ?# p2 j" z8 Fbeverage items.. y# W. t% F& e' @( @% f3 _6 H1 C8 z

" D2 z& J+ r( i. J9 F2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  7 i$ U- R: x3 {  g/ ~3 T. v
bar and debit floats.
7 R  B- J9 U& P$ Z- @( |& t7 ^- Z) x* L, x: J; k! B3 c
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
1 B2 _$ ]# i# l4 |% n; qeach shift, and upon closing.

1 E9 N- V+ d5 B& _9 {4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
5 ~" h! A& f! @' T4 z, tattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
  J! J1 [* v+ `seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
9 g% Z+ @% J' H, D4 K, ^% r3 u! Z" @% q: l) `" Y+ N! [$ S: |0 t5 D
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
  A1 {0 H4 i1 Pstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
: g8 c% Y! N/ y8 v7 fproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift., ?7 W. ?6 f% s- C, K
4 x  F" n1 z& [- V# k' x
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  - M9 n0 _+ \9 ?: G+ D9 Y
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
& B1 ^7 A3 j4 K; |4 Q! a$ ohigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
& X' c0 B; x. s& @9 h/ naccordance with Students' Union policies.' q  h( }7 x; P% Q
( D, R% @% [7 b! k' {3 ~& Y0 I0 z
7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
: F9 }  K6 R7 J; K1 h# G6 phigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
* {0 l5 l* h/ D To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  / \0 C/ j& L4 ^/ Z
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  3 l+ Y8 u3 d* ?; D
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

6 a7 Q& _$ y- ^) `- L* n4 MQUALIFICATIONS:1 \9 z! U  }/ w1 D: l" p+ ?
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent., B0 ?. h" k  f

( A0 R) K3 m) u. y0 V3 A& O, L5 x6 H2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
( B6 a/ F  ~( `, y. I5 \  Boperation.9 p8 M: Q& ~+ X& Q. j8 L+ `/ A

& h( @7 ]0 |4 M5 Y3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
  i! E. X/ q) R# C, {2 xaccordance with Students' Union policy.

0 ]' P/ @! V! s1 P, \8 c# D4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

- O3 e! M' @- F: v6 O5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
1 q* a% V/ ]5 {/ w2 ~/ {Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  ! Z' G5 \$ p) j5 R$ A7 h1 A
attitude.
