through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
$ g% g9 |! o' E. r3 {/ G, gcleanliness and order in the bar.

0 B4 {+ h. J& [8 [+ b# Y4 B. SDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
" v+ }! L% y6 `' X1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
2 e: k% J5 a1 P- ?" u8 ~- rbeverage items.

2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
: w5 Q( ]0 D# X' F# G: u2 t8 o- Fbar and debit floats.

. b8 h# y) @0 o. o% N* j! Q3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.

* q* f- ~# p7 d' y4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
0 e* n0 k( N2 h6 pattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
/ {* p$ B$ k6 jseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
( Q5 x3 b! M' p, G$ Oproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
& K9 `3 M" V$ j; t: O+ Imonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
& v1 K% b1 K* Y2 b3 m4 \high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

( K! I. J" f, ]$ l( ^7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
( F# T) O& h! ?" Ahigh standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
4 n& v- U+ o' \ To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
5 D9 \% t# ]1 s4 ~3 Z' JAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

3 {5 g1 S* q' o! H, B. n9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
8 G* E2 p  b# u; l6 Z9 M, d' ySenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

4 [  d8 X5 a+ m: e, ~2 n2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
+ r7 \7 t0 J+ Yoperation.

3 h9 y5 v9 u  g+ S" b- H3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
accordance with Students' Union policy.

7 m! X/ [0 s4 }3 }4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

% T: y/ _( [- P  n5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.

purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
