BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
through Friday

1 [3 V% p5 {7 f. mJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
cleanliness and order in the bar.

4 @  I/ g& x7 y5 j6 NDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
" M- p- C3 S8 j7 M9 [# kbeverage items.

0 P$ t9 B6 a2 m2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
+ Y3 z! p# H, J4 F7 y3 nbar and debit floats.

) E7 B; [. [6 _, y  k3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
each shift, and upon closing.

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

  }0 d7 [+ ?4 m$ `  Gmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
1 S& h5 Q! A% ~5 o1 i2 a/ s* Mhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
2 v+ E5 K8 F( maccordance with Students' Union policies.

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

5 ?6 ]9 V# a9 n! y0 g9 B$ k3 Q0 r8 C2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
operation.

3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
9 n2 M- e2 I( P3 b5 |accordance with Students' Union policy.

$ O5 T4 f0 i% A+ P- W4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

) b8 G' @) I6 y1 ^0 |: LUnion staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic

Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
