SERVER (RATT)

$ k! B" {4 S0 N4 z# z11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
5 D; _  W" Q2 ^Thursdays

* u& m% r2 o& M: W2 ZJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
! }( [2 x" G3 D0 v& nBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
customer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
* d6 a5 E' x" H1 X3 Morders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
4 A) x/ r0 a: O8 ?7 Yhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
; @; G& V, [2 a3 |+ i( ]: P7 Uincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.
# A8 B4 D, U" T  |4 ~8 Y% ^
: j, j1 n% X. R8 r3 b$ s; K5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
. |+ W6 y$ I. s$ v  Yaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
0 I1 P$ }; b# D; N/ s6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
3 E$ L+ W9 n- fAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
) _/ X, v$ N9 `. F1 G1 v
& g. [# a0 r3 I9 Z0 h1 P( R4 a7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
; n; o' D% e" V8 ?7 [/ ?, ^2 @Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
2 u  n) B! Z1 C$ v- j
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
& f: Z+ v" C2 O' K% m' _0 voperation.

+ e" t/ b, b+ B: G3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
7 h3 G5 H: `8 o8 K; T0 lpolicy.

" q# J, i  {) Z2 Z  l4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
' J3 }$ T/ W9 f" K  O: W; scard transactions.

! W1 ]' h7 {: a( l! Y+ Z5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

, O0 p' M1 M8 y, p# l; a* j9 eWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
