“Trick” in Probation + Reduced Pay

They offer $60K–$70K after probation, but only $40K during probation — and can fire you before probation ends.

$ j" x% m7 k$ [& `& ]+ }4 K" vThis raises red flags:

$ K( L+ A, w" pIf they never intend to keep new hires past probation, and just want to pay less for 3 months of full work, that’s a bad faith employment practice.

It could amount to constructive dismissal, misrepresentation, or fraudulent hiring, depending on intent and repeated pattern.

  V& p* n; r$ h! {% hIf challenged, a court or tribunal may side with the employee if there's evidence the employer is abusing probation to get cheap labor and avoid legal obligations.
