The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job
No. 9246.

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

' |: D9 N2 G& L' @; K# i& KHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
/ d% [: F! P5 @/ wschool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
! k+ }) v5 R; _# |etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
! c" U5 i$ x* N3 i# E* ~) \) ztheir program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
8 e- I% B5 J6 V0 T  _* uvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
1 G' _# t: r: r! iexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
5 f- \7 G* A# O# `% [' e, Ofunctions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
! l' S* |6 W; {$ a' c: B7 s  Upresentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

) o9 t) g4 l3 M6 ^4 ^, IQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
3 |; u" j4 |# N0 udemonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
3 v- l  {, ~0 s4 [+ |% U$ w7 Y% T3 A% Ba variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
' S2 v/ F* j# G4 g' Zof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
$ }1 s5 y' P6 q, }) lskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
4 M) k3 o/ T. S9 g# K) qExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
$ w7 l: s# O" g5 Qexperience coordinating group activities an asset.
