The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

7 `5 r8 r  {3 J( ASalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
* d; ~7 \2 g0 n  I6 ~# L& h; Hinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
5 F/ A8 L/ V4 h2 j2 k8 ^) tcompounds by chromatography.
0 M7 O) c( D% x3 x3 p/ i3 a7 s
& f! A7 u7 ?# r9 JQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
9 t0 E/ M1 J7 I3 W8 F1 tseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
