The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
0 d) h: {5 b6 O0 y. ^; l5 ztechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
- D2 |: l* `# x: }% l, V. J4 Yfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
( J) J0 M  j! b1 ~include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

0 C  P+ s8 O' ?$ h" a% [/ {Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
' S* J% ^7 x/ I/ cChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
6 L. N  x0 G9 _( E7 @; Kof a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
: E/ r) q6 A, M4 N0 b, xhope to work in these areas.
