The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

" z0 L; Q; z8 ZDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
: |( P+ J6 M1 F  jtechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
2 y0 c5 {4 v2 D. B* Linclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

2 M' s; C- Y% K! r3 KQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
) G& R& a" O. d/ Nseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.

. j% R$ R7 f1 B$ G+ D' G$ nand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
