Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
! S/ V/ W" U7 E$ {9 ~* _weekend hours.
) g+ q; P* G8 m) Z0 C( l1 Q0 qYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer7 f, ~0 v) b& J2 j3 O7 ?
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
4 [3 J% w( q4 }( g! i U" Ecentre.! S# L9 I% Q; G, ^4 I" r7 }
These responsibilities include:
8 x6 r! W3 E9 e, b: x9 u6 b-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
5 Q, @8 }2 g; a" Q0 \4 D-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.4 S3 Y" A0 S9 w% {6 ]4 S
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
& v5 _' v! v9 ^' ]3 a$ `5 B- _renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to % X7 K6 |, @& f3 W
facilities’ maintenance, etc. $ t' J6 Z) E% `! P
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic ' g2 D/ g' W0 V. M6 K& A
clients’ files etc. ( D1 L' R2 N& O2 p

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 1 M2 a, m" i0 r9 h
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
1 O3 z: x. |+ {' ]: i9 w; |+ rof education, training and /or experience. 8 a# v; U" d1 Z$ A
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
# H+ k" ~& O9 y* A2 Y4 E5 A-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.; u+ T3 U. L4 w
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
) ~: l5 T5 n$ m/ d, l: y9 nand Excel.
0 W& [/ n* b4 R# S, U% u5 u+ f& }' A-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
