Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and9 S5 p" _* ~" h9 y' l' k. k
weekend hours./ y- }* F0 F; W* i
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
2 Z' J2 U7 C" e C* zlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
! I1 N! [, R( D( e4 o3 q icentre.: Q! J2 J5 Y! `8 |. n
These responsibilities include:! W; f+ {3 U# G/ |* R' b t) q+ v
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC., d8 y% l' D' J3 T( W/ [$ }1 w
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
6 r! Y" b ~; _" ^6 G* ?) T3 k-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
9 u$ I6 Y8 Z6 `, U# t) D5 Urenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to & v! k2 @% I. X, {, D' F' n! ~; r
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
/ E* V6 Z* P) {+ N-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic

5 @$ g' W0 e& M$ l6 l-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, 7 \) q+ _: O3 ^) _2 a+ @: w
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
3 E0 V$ f7 q6 s% g1 gof education, training and /or experience.
5 U8 x1 Y) F. v$ z, N( ?6 dKnowledge/Technical competencies: t ^2 x6 o0 u) M, r
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
& S2 g7 F- m2 i# _1 O5 L7 e, |: \-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word- A5 `( U7 k0 D! @, \8 ?
and Excel. # I m, K/ f0 c% v% B3 o, h, m4 f5 {& g
-Experience using and updating an information database. 6 b; t% R8 i$ z
