TORONTO -- Sun Life Financial Inc. said Monday it is retiring the Clarica brand as part of a revised marketing strategy.
& o3 B7 e- ~) H; q) K& W! x( `Clarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.
$ h7 |4 L; Q6 O, _, ^* w* JThere are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.

The company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.) Q& F/ _6 ~) `$ t7 S; I' m, \
