Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me: 8 N: N: W9 \0 i9 @9 i
"I am going to send it back". " A- a, g, e9 T# a3 u8 x2 @: r
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
. K3 z% }; h6 f# T "I am sorry, what are you sending back?"
) C6 N# b6 P8 L% g* J' AHe said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."

"Yes, I did."
, S: W3 \' s$ _( K! ^; C3 cFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post. / D2 t9 V; j- C& v2 P' `1 j" v2 ]
He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. 6 t& _" \ I5 f1 y' C
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"1 B! i, @2 ^1 d( r$ W e0 H$ S
"No, I am not. I do not do those things.", {, W- e8 O$ t& u8 s4 T1 c
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. 0 m; k- R7 o+ H
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:$ _/ x! L$ f& R/ e& y0 f& @
"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"+ e3 g) `% O5 D1 C
"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:8 c8 Q% H; H: e# L5 H% ^% V- c
"I do not have an address."
4 H; c; y& F' x: e# f. H; cI was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"% u) W0 f. A* J1 Q0 i, Z
He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
