Banff or Jasper in the season Fall?

can anybody advise the best time to go to Banff or Jasper in the season Fall? thanks. I have never been there in this season.

Quieter, cheaper, a lot of aspen gold, a lot of elks and bears. Pick a sunny day in late september / early october before the ski season.
