We live in Magrath Heights and we are currently struggling with our 5-year-old daughter's to Kindergarten registration. I wonder if there are parents in Magrath, MacTaggart area who are struggling with this issue as well. I wish to explore possibilities to group up and help each other out on making our lives easier with the half-day kindergarten program.9 ~( T) D4 x7 J& C

To kick it off, here are my two cents.

$ ?+ X* Y9 ^+ FWe need to make up our mind as to which school to register to since one kid can only send in ONE registration at a time, and it can be really hard to switch school in the middle of the year. Currently there are two options for my daughter:* U1 \* r8 `5 T& k1 y- U9 }0 t3 x
; m& w8 |0 q1 [( @6 [9 d1 C+ x* i
Option 1: Regular program - a new school - Nellie Carlson(http://www.epsb.ca/schools/newsc ... ions/nelliecarlson/) is under construction and scheduled to open September 2016; boundaries not finalized yet. * `5 b+ C- m5 @& ~8 F# Q2 E9 W
No on site child care available. 4 W! d* I# N( i7 x* ?2 v" k
2 v% l( ^7 F3 i7 S
IF we fall under the final boundary, what to do with the afternoons? My husband and I both work full-time 30 minutes drive from home. I maybe able to take one afternoon off in a week, part-time is not likely an option.3 T, V# G$ ?/ `# h! \* V
9 n! e" n+ h1 p' ]/ cOption 2: Mandarin Bilingual program - Parkallen School where there is a YMCA KinderCare close by, $755 a month, AND there is a wait list.
+ g w+ F. y3 a8 VHonestly, I wish to send my daughter to the Mandarin Bilingual school, but again, there is the afternoon issue, YMCA is not guaranteed and expensive. I wonder if there are other parents considering this school and we could come up with a program to support each other and incorporate with Chinese elements.
