Edmonton home builders say they are working non-stop to meet a demand they haven’t seen since the boom of 2005.

Builders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013.

4 m% a/ `/ o/ I9 h" _: [7 C/ Z3 |“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.

$ O. o9 ?5 o* |( O% k( wThe increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
