ATV crash leaves woman dead, man presumed drowned
( U( e/ x0 E3 @# s An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports.

8 y/ _* _5 K' ?: T! R% vAccording to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.

She lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.+ O k" `- r* ` I3 \9 L$ h

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned." L6 O* a. p4 [* j( K

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

) g$ Y9 C& Y) w0 W' Q* y5 lA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The names of the man and woman are not being made public by the RCMP.( m7 ?% P9 P( ]& X
: d$ R) r/ x' w4 QRivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
