Except as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall# v$ `9 S/ ]9 j: \( k
not do any of the following:
' i0 D" `# z9 k, I2 T% S7 A) `! A7 ](a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor
% {2 p$ u$ m4 _) Fvehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
. o, S/ B; @, G$ \/ v8 w- x(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor2 I, J: v9 n. b* K6 b
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;3 f+ G( @; }; w% I3 |6 F2 f
(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,4 i" H- h; C$ ?* Q
permit another person/ M# M& k: G6 {" h
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or2 i$ J, u4 r) y6 ^6 T
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,* m2 P( t8 K q- S) D+ Y9 b/ A* W
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

- q# V5 `6 a/ I3 d" P4 E2 q% Xresponsibility card or a copy of it
( I9 R) u1 h% t; }7 rto a person not entitled to have that financial

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway
8 [$ {! u; ]% _& bwithout the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
0 @" ~8 {$ Y& ^ Fthe vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
G( J: Y; M+ C, ~ ]$ k(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is% @4 o/ o2 s, P: b4 ^! V
not an insured motor vehicle.

Act, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this

financial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the

( K: |# R1 e s* h- M' Fby an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy2 Y* \0 ]7 ]( s/ T
outside Alberta.* B, t0 N0 z- {
(4)
& {6 k }, @2 d: J2 z6 GA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection, ?: c( O7 G: W1 o5 H" I' \8 |
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,
. `( {4 w. v1 T$ L z. y(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500

more than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
