Job Description:         

JOB FUNCTIONS:

# W2 y- B- `2 Y9 }5 f7 d• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

5 b& ~1 G* x- q6 c7 {• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

' {, F& H' b1 l+ V2 d; k5 O( k& I% Y• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

8 ]7 j% o3 S& J8 J& l7 q5 S• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

3 m  G7 R& Q7 T• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

" w/ ^: N, z2 d+ r1 |• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports.

# C! r4 ~& @0 v$ @# P& E; ^• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support may be required on a regular rotational basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

: I% X7 N5 R1 i4 C6 L• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

& w# G0 B' ~6 @8 c6 y• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:
0 D4 C. e6 {5 o: U' x3 R0 p
-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
