• Offer support and assistance to the General Manager in the following areas:
# k# r. s l" E8 h/ W• Develop, prepare, execute and achieve financial goals;
' b; ]8 W; R0 \, ?- x1 D• Provide timely and accurate financial statements; . G# g' S) F) ?& ^# e* J
• Maintain the system of internal checks designed to prevent or promptly detect unauthorized transactions;! y' f. B, o+ x# q1 m+ g
• To analyze Hotel’s performance versus budget and investigate variances as required;8 w% F a8 w; s6 h
• To monitor operational expenditures in conjunction with approved budgets; 5 ^/ `8 f {# o
• To reconcile all supplier accounts, to post all payables, and to pay vendors in accordance with due dates and cash flow projections; Z/ C2 }& {$ ]6 G# ?
• To monitor city ledger and guest ledger transactions, and to collect all receivables on a timely basis;

• Ensure Internal audit recommendations are implemented on a timely basis;
/ V$ n1 Y( I' r+ L' f• To ensure all Hotel’s contracts have proper authorization, negotiations for renewal and are properly filed and are easily available for corporate review;
! O, ]- c5 _* C' {* T- W, @2 H5 G• To ensure that there is an effective system of purchasing, receiving, and control of supplies in place at all times with proper requisition procedures;2 f' g- A1 V/ P4 W
• To ensure that usual and exceptional purchases are approved consistent with the budgeting and forecasting system;8 D( `$ Z% [6 |
• To ensure all accounting procedures comply with corporate accounting systems;
6 _+ T# `* Z, ^1 C; d6 \# Y) U9 E( @4 y& _• To provide month-end packages to the Corporate Office and assist in the preparation of financial statements;8 F- i5 _( G s) n
• Supervise and assist the Accounting support Team (Night Audit) - l* J* k; b' Q: r# ^$ N+ l
• Issue and monitor cash floats; 7 [$ K( H# \" [! t6 ^9 n9 o0 `
• To provide information to Corporate Office as required; 5 a# `& V; {! \; h
• Duties associated with Controller Position including but not limited to the above listings.% Q7 `+ j" ~0 b4 w7 S

• Strong accounting knowledge to handle a complete accounting cycle in a centralized environment.
, ` l6 k: L7 x$ }3 @' ?- d" h4 d• Ability to deal with all levels of management, staff and owners in a professional manner;
K% R9 [5 P7 q% p$ `6 R• Supervisory experience within the hotel industry; & C8 n9 o. }4 o0 A/ }9 N
• Knowledge of development and execution of business plans and budgets; , D, u8 g. o7 G2 ]) f2 i# P8 A" t
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills;
$ d$ U, V- Z9 z0 P: l• Proficient / familiarity with computerized systems such as : hotel PMS, Oracle and ADP payroll systems.- E! u9 D4 C* Z0 c7 P
• Knowledge of Alberta Labor Standards an assets.

! K) ?& u+ b; g* D• Proven ability to manage multi-tasked assignments.
