( l5 W7 \/ K3 F# P$ T, qResponsibilities and Tasks
% v4 S. Q" i* F2 X+ X( f' G8 e. d* e% R% }
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment 3 g& T7 O# P: q9 A( b& ~
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements# Y0 I0 |) |7 q- p/ A6 S
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
0 p: O3 W4 J6 r# x- Select type and size of pipe required
, A% E( i& T5 e- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools, c/ W4 U' ~' J+ [- P" t
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system. v8 f+ K; ~+ Z8 ` k$ \% U& p
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems& I7 b1 v C9 P6 y
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
' m* t+ r) @' j# T# S% N# P- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system, N! e# i. X- G( a
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system8 Y8 `4 p% }, l L f" R
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications, t8 j( z, a2 n/ M/ ]
: [- \& J( C* o2 a# V' k- Completion of secondary school
4 T4 P+ W, t' m9 h- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
& M$ @5 Z1 H7 f. ~7 g6 r' }" }/ ~- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals8 X. i' L6 E3 Q k& H, _
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
+ o& G2 k5 J: N+ k8 K' N- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset1 b* j! ?% \2 K+ p/ Q& C
- Safety tickets are considered an asset/ S' y' y* I2 f6 N1 y' e0 ^" S3 M
