Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Z( L: O9 ~% @% ?-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
. z9 j( |- y9 Y6 S/ `2 o-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

Required Qualifications

4 D4 x: ~  ~3 u" D0 R. K8 T* M-        Completion of secondary school
4 A7 j4 X: i6 `1 I5 l, M-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
6 `5 }+ x) j  o: E. E-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset

' {7 p3 d; b9 b, B7 C/ f) P0 @-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
