Title: Pipefitter

Department: Fabrication Shop

9 w3 q& C, a* x+ PLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.

- C$ g: Q- W1 T9 [4 E0 a: M; gResponsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
; |9 z: T" t9 Y0 |-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
- I6 I: T# v/ s1 f( U-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
) F; h, u' y( h8 t) O, J2 u" r-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

. u' J1 @. Q9 Z-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

-        Completion of secondary school
* I# k) _) ]. S: i' E$ `-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset

% B% [/ v/ Q" e+ n-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
