Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Anticipated Start Date: The candidate is required to work immediately

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. g: g' l( J6 z! Key Responsibilities:- d" z8 ?; O: Y) u) m
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person6 V' y+ N2 x* p
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST/ a( Z! h$ r. l. { }4 u. D
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately9 Z6 l( K% I( E5 g# T" i4 ^( K5 T
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
9 x( L6 o! \4 P" S9 Q! j# Z• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents" f) }! f+ T5 R0 g) J d% e
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker R, ?% N% a. q5 k( S4 E
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events- z5 b: I: `& }+ c9 R' M5 g
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events }6 a. i! x* J1 C3 o
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
3 t7 p/ G# N+ e) u• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters7 P( c; P4 N% }
• Maintain front counter service files

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:4 _0 y6 h) ]+ i5 v, c6 I
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
5 A0 t3 m7 j6 ~2 N# U• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
* |2 ?( U! x+ G' y# C$ u2 U3 E4 D• Good English writing and oral communication skills. A( V3 M! ]& L# \& A# K. C8 r
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
8 v* ^$ N7 {4 D• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook8 N4 S) o, Z. K; P4 y# Z6 `8 k) O
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
& p, H( h4 w! x# G4 b1 @• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds3 I+ a+ q/ u9 C
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

( l6 T B, T* Y J$ l2 i V" @& |• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
) f% G; |3 i0 l Q( P( P• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
. q" p5 n( G1 ^• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
$ T& ]% \' t( H, G3 T• Ability to work well under minimal supervision" j0 X z: q7 y. k% L* G6 e
