A male wearing a balaclava and carrying a handgun was spotted by a pedestrian walking in the area of Falconer Road and Riverbend Road at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. 5 }- D$ W6 p; L# e8 h0 q: s, Q0 {
Police arrested the man later in the afternoon at the Terwillegar Recreation Centre, after receiving a tip from a resident.; ?' h7 ~& W5 X) B! L" n/ K

A search of the man's home turned up a BB pistol and balaclava matching the description given by witnesses. The man is charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. " F) n3 m+ |* r; Q3 g# p4 U* h1 R9 g/ N3 b) n
A man wearing a balaclava and holding a handgun was seen in the area on two previous occasions — the first at 4 p.m. last Friday near the Snow Valley ski hill parking lot and on Saturday on the Terwillegar Drive footbridge. 7 \; ^& x9 U, s1 `* i6 t
