Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

Mandatory Qualifications:

•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities

! \! K; F/ a& C7 ~•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs
& H; \$ a: K% \- A3 N* \
•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required

3 T4 p0 p9 U# c2 v2 t5 C•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

* k2 l8 Y4 `% ?1 j•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

& }, z! @# ^- |! a5 N•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field

5 I1 ~4 Z; r9 q$ P: h•        have been in Canada for less than 3 years
+ \7 Q) B7 \0 z4 A•        are legally able to work in Canada
