Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project% Z0 `* }: d6 z) l3 K& L; p

Job Purpose:( p5 t( N8 W7 O. l4 |; N
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. : e# K5 ?5 A) k" w( X; Z

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
: e6 u- Z1 ?2 x& K2 k•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;& r4 {. S$ S( X# z
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
; {& H4 D0 }; D4 |/ z! {6 F+ ?* {. j•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
4 \- d. ]$ M  b4 ?1 [9 c•        Risk Management and succession planning;
% _( ^4 U$ j- y1 v$ I

•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;" W0 W, J+ [. a; c4 W" ]* A- F
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
# w) A' L- _* O" l•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;5 p8 z; h4 Q4 g. e/ j
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
: b1 E9 }5 T% K: Q! z! A6 `; ~•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;% V, f  L2 M$ a$ L( [- q  p
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;, K0 Y9 s! j. _9 V0 ?6 ], q* }
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;1 d+ L4 e& W# t3 W1 Y
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

+ x/ L0 N; D8 {& d5 t9 p; ]Qualifications:
# H! H/ X8 s+ O9 F•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;: P! ?# U/ y! }$ E" y. s! q
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;) }  t/ i$ l) O9 t  F8 e
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  1 j! Y5 t$ Z7 |$ S& Q$ d
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
: y0 o1 A! E) `& {1 B2 Q  Y$ R•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.  x5 v; s. [+ W5 l# b
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
/ B5 e* P- H8 d; a' R1 C•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;. s& i; T" i2 ]
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;& o: e$ @2 @$ b# e
•        Current valid drivers license;
# F8 J+ y' Q0 V•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
3 v6 n1 _6 Q) a% _# o) {! F•        Conflict resolution skills;
* m# w2 {0 n( y: P: q  V•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;  W" s# F5 u3 c" a
•        Committed and passionate about children;" W2 Y! A3 F* e% U5 ~
