Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:; Q b- @- ~0 R! j
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

1 }* N0 Z p u2 OThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
3 n& S; e" G) D0 w) I& f* L' P• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
+ i: J e# d& g9 n• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;* J; {1 x6 o& u4 p. J/ K; I
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
7 L6 y2 d U2 k• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 7 n; l, N" z9 {$ V: w2 Z) v* [
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
! p1 i! J6 a) l8 J: r. p! v• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;; W$ w0 u- i6 R
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;7 A/ }8 m3 A" k5 [
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
\$ j4 q8 ?/ r$ ]$ i+ Q9 \• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
8 g. ^0 M C. P0 R7 N+ D1 c• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;+ q+ I: d% ^6 N. _
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;% G2 ]. m) p" T- Z9 L5 s2 x
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications: B3 ]( L! v( l
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;1 G: O- F7 y) Y& i( c0 d
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;, A; s" W- l9 h( _" Z) l
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
9 j+ U g: G1 A, j) _' d& L• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;% R# w$ U" J3 E; A+ V/ X8 D1 H1 w
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
" ^7 j) c) F6 p4 K• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
/ x7 k x/ f; ~3 v! p$ Q8 b( z• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;2 q, O6 L6 ?! r: E' i; q9 }
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
$ a) _- E3 k4 G! I a• Current valid drivers license;
/ m( H0 Q G- O( d/ A• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;( W& s" }: X& @4 \+ l6 L) x: [
• Conflict resolution skills;; x6 ]1 K6 h6 S
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;( Q' q B! C ~* i" T+ P) m0 B: k
• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
