" f! |2 y4 W) }4 f e e" q0 oTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 7 z# }8 y+ B8 y5 m

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)4 v% B! c( g+ r! ]) y( ], D

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;5 H0 ]4 ~) p8 | K& R: V5 ~
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;8 k! a$ E/ J/ `, K) u5 F9 \
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;9 s# U E; Y- R
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; . q8 F" @. G) |& A& @
• Risk Management and succession planning;" r) r6 V0 C6 ~' v3 h

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 4 C# U: p. Z! ^
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
, Q) e" A+ F# H8 X2 c8 A+ O8 t• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
* n! h, v: o6 b• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;0 M# h- h" Z( Y& V8 r
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
( ^; W' G" P6 ]6 T% _, e• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;# `. \2 p) N2 ^+ Z# G# l5 E. P ]
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;- b* z' ]$ q$ z \
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
& I8 E1 B6 M1 _) ~+ _% ~+ t+ v• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;. }3 L' x6 Z8 M3 q L

Qualifications:8 L8 w9 m4 \/ C/ g
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
2 u5 Y/ \4 H, m" W• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;2 z) @! [4 L N" X
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; - p7 L6 N! u9 D
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
& V& w$ o9 U0 D) B n$ D; f* w• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.# u W0 A- R9 a& r
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
- q: c6 D2 Y4 j" x2 ~/ i, O$ f• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
# K4 C& w% H' D6 j4 ~• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;) X, d& N( M5 z# a0 n
• Current valid drivers license;# I. [( t* D3 Z) [- d5 J0 D. t4 G( ?
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;8 i) C' N& b& G3 {. X
• Conflict resolution skills;7 A' A# H$ h) O' M
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;6 {+ K! w- d9 M8 B
• Committed and passionate about children;
