Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project' u2 y, {4 y1 o$ D, O& D

To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding), U! G" f( f) I" P7 N/ N

- s7 B  [* ]# }. wAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
. G' A# j5 f6 d, J+ X•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
; ?' S7 f0 X3 Z& L% [9 i5 P7 I•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
$ x+ w' B* f/ c8 b•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
/ d" x' C  l, n9 k* e- I7 n•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;   W& h, K# k( M
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

6 N5 R( c. @9 v' r- u+ jProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  
$ W( p0 |0 t" ~, A- P/ o•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;4 o2 ], `) x  h0 r0 q+ x% z5 L
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
! T1 j* s; n- m, F•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;/ f, K0 @( d# p
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
% y$ r+ u6 l; t1 I+ ^2 U; R5 {•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;6 P2 h7 y" D7 u, d% L
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
4 w8 m7 i! }( G! j3 t- B- _•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
; Q  A: i& s  I  m3 t•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;- u8 ^: m- d! u3 r  r/ P( a$ y

Qualifications:# F0 m6 A* ]5 ^) M# d) W
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
5 K1 g2 O  G3 u- q/ R•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;- r2 k  ?# ]$ D9 ^: i# c
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
5 }! F. A$ }1 E% h/ W•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;: C( }  q/ p( i: l
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.+ N, B/ U0 Y+ {8 f/ e1 }
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;2 n  @3 M# e6 Y4 Y
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;, Q! H) G0 @7 C  c  C# u* S0 c
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;7 O7 M  m; Z4 A/ A
•        Current valid drivers license;
6 S6 z* k  X: x' [' {4 ^•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;# |, U# k7 c( e4 a7 |" d+ O
•        Conflict resolution skills;
3 ^( g: V2 a+ ]3 T# Y- r, k•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
0 q! }0 K! d: C•        Committed and passionate about children;
