Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
4 N5 a) ]5 ^; ?+ \' i2 sTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. . o7 ^7 n7 N* m* I4 [7 h0 r" v

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding), E2 W$ y* o' y

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:+ R2 N) x% R7 f; [3 L4 j
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;  `4 c5 K6 _8 C! |# M1 s5 G: E8 B3 J
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
: |& ?6 w" n& O. u- |, _•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;! e1 C+ `3 q/ |  D* @% V8 F
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
3 A( s& K" {, i1 {; G•        Risk Management and succession planning;
8 `# A; T( {( @- w* s& O8 ?" G4 [, u7 S& k8 t0 c4 Y6 P; A
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
  @& K0 I6 o+ Q3 z•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;/ n1 m: r* t" O* T
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
3 Z7 q. z  Y. @# Y, }* e% V•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
  d% Q8 I. f# M" r! e" _! F, m•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
" X" u5 Z7 D2 @6 F! k! J•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;- l4 r$ _: r5 ~
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;$ i* X" C. k. b5 {9 K$ {
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
* n5 e! {' g% o6 e! N+ |1 T•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
7 F$ C* r4 d" R3 a•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;( [. b0 `# a1 D! a) Z5 Z% Y; n: _
•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
# P# w6 v0 h- M3 i# a•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
/ Z6 p( \/ l  v1 m8 O% @9 G•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
7 W0 |  z# A6 A$ H•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
1 |3 V) ^$ P! t; a) {: p•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
: H; a+ K$ A3 l3 ?•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;1 P8 j$ b; P8 }. A! l$ l! c
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
2 y4 N- v* U  |" j& O* }; z- g•        Current valid drivers license;
2 K+ W5 U1 ^  \  Y8 G) M•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
! e! V+ S) X3 l/ x0 _2 g+ s  N•        Conflict resolution skills;# J# Z' B9 L: K
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;7 j3 i/ C+ B$ L; u& H
•        Committed and passionate about children;8 F' i- U( q8 [  {
