Teen extricated from car after head-on collision near Chestermere

CALGARY — A teen girl was taken to Foothills Hospital in potentially life-threatening condition Monday morning after a head-on collision that involved a "complicated extrication" near Chestermere.

0 {/ w" ~+ X0 G8 L3 H0 @0 m2 R6 oAt around 8:30 a.m., RCMP, Chestermere fire crews and Calgary EMS personnel were called to Highway 791 just east of Calgary after a pick-up truck and smaller car crashed head-on, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux.

' j9 M# L7 A& s$ u7 u1 c, \9 {: gThe female driver in her mid-teens, who was the lone occupant of the small car, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.

STARS Air Ambulance was called to take the girl to the Foothills Hospital.
