Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

& n* W. q* J, Z3 x7 b _- provide volunteers to update membership database/ m4 T7 Z% f% G3 G2 g9 M" k: w4 A
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
2 u, `5 O4 m# ]$ E3 P1 q! k$ f- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
" v8 u2 n& [; [" Z1 G2 F- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties8 p. o2 q) W- Z: c9 p: w" h6 l& b
- provide volunteers for various programs
$ N: t+ I, Q6 ~- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
8 J: s _( w& d% ?7 z. Y5 @9 m' o* e- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation; K7 j. `8 l' Q9 A1 e% R; a# t( g
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities" s9 W5 l c9 L2 Y6 [" V
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
, f& Y4 w+ U" K% |) a- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
$ x; g3 H0 Q$ a+ L$ v2 K- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed6 P0 h. s8 o0 M( d
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed! Z2 v" m! a7 T) E2 V
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)( }( f2 P$ u) a5 o- j
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
- r! X& r$ B. U- s( t- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
$ m- ]5 v9 U/ d" x) T% S( f) d- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
2 T( \4 n' z. M9 L- K9 i# H) ]- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
) T: \( M. b+ f: O3 w2 [4 k- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis ! k9 ]" N E6 G6 c

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
4 W- B# o+ J+ O& C' ?; M* h* F' L- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
; k' q. ?! i9 A+ l- good oral and written Chinese and English skills2 \" b2 M) q$ B3 b& t
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' k" Y* {9 o" s
- leadership skills
9 A! S5 T/ _* l/ v- management and supervision skills. S1 L1 W1 q* t$ [
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
