Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
2 F3 }6 k- J* h( N* K9 Q2 G- submit information for community news ; s3 Q4 _ \1 s( J8 |9 L
- provide volunteers to update membership database
: K3 Y6 @6 s, J- d# X( J' y- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
. R: O' }! Q5 M! n7 [0 y- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
5 a [, v6 A1 o, N- A- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties: }+ B+ M% Y5 k3 r2 c1 g
- provide volunteers for various programs
, n1 p) g; M- m- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
1 W; H' u) Q3 w; ~' x, ~/ v- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation6 a# |4 r! c# s+ ?1 b" l; i
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
: G& B4 a r, F" S2 @4 n2 ?$ C- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services' x5 q/ [- R4 k; X0 C, `2 u
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
0 l Y2 h- Z3 X6 ~; i- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed1 F4 \; n* h% v! e% f& D1 `
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed* g! S9 S0 l% [1 Z# l4 K
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)* w% q& u! N# {6 c. z/ E: A6 u
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events . z/ p6 W/ `$ [ a
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual $ V9 b( _5 ]1 b' u, h% C
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers ) M- N" l" b/ b( Y6 Y. e
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 9 I0 y6 B7 y6 X
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 5 ]1 z$ V! L* F7 t
- evaluations ! Z# `0 y# }3 _0 o
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

6 L( `% i) R: ?& P4 `/ c5 r- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education: A; \5 M/ s8 v3 e# U; ~. K
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 D% A. v) {8 f8 u' x4 j- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
- {' @5 n5 [% p: Y- leadership skills
( m! j- n# I& o5 r- management and supervision skills) n. j% L% F0 k
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills4 K9 ~8 F0 K& L) i# H/ K
