- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers6 g! L$ @4 U. X1 M) h
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
6 }! h& a2 ^- M% j( ~- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
, M5 S7 c4 T' i6 E n; p2 e# M- provide volunteers for various programs

- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation0 a' X- O4 i$ J& g% o
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities0 A! C" J7 o7 }" T* S: }
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services" ]; H, B$ P# j' V5 f( \
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports, D6 E* ^# H# l& M3 I; G, k$ @+ m
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
6 M$ p3 s) K r3 O( K- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ; ~( c% l6 B O" B
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
% b5 `* c/ Z! E: J- r5 ^- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
! ]4 w/ w7 X0 L0 g. f- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 5 j' e' z0 H5 I0 y
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 2 }& p0 [6 v, J: D4 @/ _5 `9 l
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
, a+ U# F* ^$ G# q) p- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 a! K: h$ k Z6 o' y# z: w- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
2 e" O1 _* J0 D7 ^* C" Y2 X- leadership skills
+ @6 Y' p- l$ k- O2 X- management and supervision skills
1 Y! E5 n( n Z `8 n1 C- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills8 J# Q$ ?! S7 s
