- submit information for community news 6 R. L; n' o: s8 y( P/ O
- provide volunteers to update membership database
. h6 V2 W: A7 X7 ?- J- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
! |2 A7 I8 z0 S% n7 o- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
8 D E, C* \! t4 Q- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties( }2 w# K: P7 `5 f) M ]
- provide volunteers for various programs
, f$ [* H0 U( k8 _- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual6 A! [/ }- W1 D5 X
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
& p! r9 v$ E5 k5 k; u- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
2 Q& @! D3 e( N/ K7 }& {7 @& q1 t- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services5 Y& N2 l9 d# q; v* q% e
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
8 o3 I8 ?* p- I5 Y U, A" Q- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed: W3 x }0 P/ H* Z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
& X1 }' Q$ E8 [; M- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
% R( u; Z8 Z$ I1 |# m9 D# ?- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events / G/ G: s3 F9 G" }5 t; K" f
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
: i) y( v/ I* v+ F2 I9 R/ O8 ^" _- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
) d. N1 b1 e8 w( F2 T- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers , M- J' h, g3 L! v; B: S# C! o" K: [
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

Qualifications/ n& X3 m7 _$ _# K) I
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education6 J" e) m1 c4 [& `
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills W: a6 U2 G8 [3 K$ V4 b' M2 I+ f
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! V' P. k4 j" S+ Z% w. O- leadership skills
' y$ Z* T, G/ J% L- management and supervision skills
