Position Title: Community Development Worker

Key Responsibilities6 E5 O4 B0 l* O4 ~- g$ w5 j: ]
- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community% k0 E* ]. R y; U% y1 S
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
7 t0 t" u) N& Y0 R2 e- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
9 z1 k3 o& \7 x5 x& D, q5 r( E3 Y/ @7 J- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
2 f! D% d! z5 r M" i* x: A( X9 p5 O- coordinate good will activities7 H8 o. M' [9 j' ^
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
; v X7 T7 X) D* }( @% e3 @- submit information for community news
# D+ `% K7 U( p- prepare and send AGM information to members3 K6 W2 w- H0 s6 ~# R5 d/ T
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.% J' |+ i; g! J2 I! R7 R! {0 C
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities/ z9 J) s% t# j0 g( J8 h. y v# H
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre- l8 u; z) J$ ` c4 {3 l
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services1 C% Z" L e8 n M }6 s5 g$ s; A' E
- assist in writing proposal for ISP
: A$ m$ p7 P5 U1 c- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team" f* H. |! S' b5 H
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- coordinate good will activities9 d1 G c. ^. B2 B
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
( s) F% R, | c% L7 D- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 4 q7 Q6 G2 m8 a& m5 i2 ^( T2 Y* p
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
m( L9 Y1 J! y0 U- experience in community work and immigrant services
+ Q3 D8 a# k7 ?5 V- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
" t! V+ f# X* h( f7 ?: T- I- leadership skills
; X! X7 l$ w! Y# ^% G! l6 n$ B, V- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
