Position Title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community3 r* b3 T1 N8 \- W
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
, J3 Y+ X* `. x3 Y5 Q4 X- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
& P+ N3 y6 h( B2 G+ S+ m, a1 Q6 v- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies9 h& u: ?; t- s g: I, W5 Y% X- d
- coordinate good will activities
3 V3 A5 b2 W# R) @ r- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members) w/ h/ G- l9 f" L: e
- submit information for community news
; g; q- ?9 z, O: f/ Y2 G- prepare and send AGM information to members
, ]# G, [2 X" z/ r/ b9 q/ ^) U- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.: ?' a2 _1 G) I
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities9 o/ w& g" ]- K5 i9 y
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre' o! C. [0 O, d) j" ?. x* ^
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
' O- `3 w% q& s7 U5 I- assist in writing proposal for ISP6 D, W, T2 @8 I, v) k: R0 f& w2 ?. }
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP9 R7 q! V/ W2 c5 X% B) z T5 i! u
- explore new ideas for ISP ; c7 O3 I( H8 b
- hold regular meetings with ISP team
" v& A, V; f& N, T- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time& P$ t& B2 q) a% i4 ^
- update membership database

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# m/ }( l4 {1 a

Qualifications. T5 g& t: N" p. O2 s
- degree in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
! b9 y" \8 Y; U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills. B$ H' G+ ^5 m& D: s( i
- experience in community work and immigrant services8 A, m- {+ N8 J
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars# i! y1 ~3 k" |+ u
- leadership skills1 Q4 n( t! N3 K4 L9 L
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills- ^* q+ P# y* }# q8 O
