Position Summary:
" e6 d+ I. m% X% @Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. , ~, N% @& o: p @

Key Responsibilities:
+ L9 k/ S' ^9 ]8 t/ A: H• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person+ E1 {+ l5 R0 r" y* @9 M
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
2 b/ Q5 y1 K7 R0 O1 e% `* E• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
, R$ C5 c* r$ ^; a+ g4 G3 @• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
% n$ Q% v* v8 d- ^" G) I• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents: W. x% z$ l8 ]/ u
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker, L" |* j s& w8 F$ ~6 |
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events6 |; n3 p/ |( P( w+ C" ^, j9 Z; {
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
5 R6 P3 Q. y# T• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
, C, @8 X) q: E• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters. b! O# O! C0 v9 q' ]
• Maintain front counter service files

+ T$ ?2 [$ B4 ^Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:8 ?6 Q0 R: `8 i0 J- F6 v
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
3 c! v) z" F2 }$ X- o8 {. P* |5 b9 |• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
* N5 t# k( B# F2 X& e& f$ o% |• Good English writing and oral communication skills
% C( X, {3 w7 t& |& n9 C( [1 G% ^• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
& @' ~' {1 H- l4 U5 h! A* f• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
$ g8 G ^! V* u• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 2 S+ Z* |6 z( M# o, c: V/ b
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:
3 m& C. g: b8 e D$ L( E; t• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 2 ~1 {5 m/ p8 p/ _3 ]
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
/ ]% L. X; T* o• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
+ Q/ V) n/ w# f3 G/ v5 Z• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
