Position Summary:
, u6 H* z: J# E% d1 v9 p% QWithin the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. i: C! Key Responsibilities:* t$ z7 K m" `# t0 h+ p& B4 N2 b5 H m
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person' s6 i# n; M% h( ~+ B [ z
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST. {, ^' b7 }" Q4 c" e( y/ Y4 ^" r
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
2 v* H l) A' C: o• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter% B' T5 _; r1 n' u' g
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents; t% L$ z3 L R+ Z; x
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
# _# R/ U6 S9 E9 ^/ u2 s- L( ~• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
; C, F9 ~- Y4 {8 A# O6 Z• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events6 q. d; G$ t/ Y
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean/ E; O5 e: C1 W# `; C/ G
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* v& p f, o: k# k• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
% _! a7 E+ f& p8 {# N' d6 _% h: l• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset3 f6 i# E4 c* f9 P
• Good English writing and oral communication skills4 u8 h0 W A: F8 h; O
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
8 y& o) \9 P1 K* M• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
. R Y, k0 a. h• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately

• Knowledge of immigrant services: T( L: Y# c& _0 o8 w# h

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
$ g: ` s7 m$ g( z/ t! e" [• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment Q: B$ I/ e' p7 }( N; b
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism) }: f8 H, p: n* U0 z
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision1 s. q& c, U2 J9 O
