Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:; n6 S4 x% w1 {/ p
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person7 e+ F1 w- d$ L
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
7 U* k1 p: f! s# \% [8 u6 g* c• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately8 f% C1 ?. N( z, ^% R$ V
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter! e4 ^! V2 Y9 U
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
; }6 P3 c$ e* L' M5 J5 U: T* g• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker4 a2 F& [8 C/ A$ b
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
^; G6 t; H7 x• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events; u% d/ b. m- B7 w3 x) F. D
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
# A1 @/ h& j) ~• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters ~- m( x0 `0 ?* ?* b+ X- d
• Maintain front counter service files) v" c3 j U" ?! g' t6 v3 N" @
• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:5 j2 s$ A) D7 C9 I0 |; J
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
) Y: W! I, U: R; B5 j+ s/ M* c• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
, C3 d% d2 |3 P• Good English writing and oral communication skills# u. h: Z% j) A
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
: `2 C! V$ k" q4 s3 b& `6 U; O• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

Qualifications:
A2 F/ f* X( d9 d, }# W `* s2 k) Q• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience ' @. M7 J/ t8 Z$ P O- }9 v2 A, g
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment) N8 c3 f( }% I/ ?6 L, m8 A
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism4 [: M9 n' Z! R; H
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision2 z+ j$ p. p. O( O( w0 Y
