5 c  F1 I' W  f# bIn general, key aspects of the role are:
# @' G$ \6 E* _8 ]0 D  ~-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
' X! h; Q% }( I6 _0 `" W-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
$ Z4 x% S9 k5 b. z8 n$ c-        Participate in peer reviews;
-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
" F% r$ t  O$ W8 _# k( p9 g-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
% w+ R# Z  x# C. O: g) ]* fdepartment’s change management processes;
( \4 h- l! O# f% X8 C1 o! T-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
1 I7 o1 @( d9 E. C8 ^-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
9 |  t, r, e: E! e-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
: S- z' V" t9 k5 \4 ~' H9 n-        Lead short term projects;
-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
/ Z2 J! ~: h  }6 V5 D# I-        Excellent written communication skills;
  _% ]5 A6 z$ t3 W% [-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
" C. e6 Z6 {5 v- K7 e(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
for incorporating new technology.
. P- q" |% u. o  Y4 _
(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

1 k' s5 F( `$ e7 ?# e(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

# f+ G( K' r' M1 J3 Z(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

* e5 l2 T; W$ w- ~3 t; E* z(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers
! |) c) p1 h2 x# r9 I8 V
7 v% t- V) Y, s' V; N1 @" ~. J(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

( e2 N% U% B0 c" fB. Desirable Requirements
(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
5 ^4 }% m% v6 s' @" I- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
- Crystal Reports
% k2 F1 o) l! h% P( F- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

( Z3 g% V# w4 v* U# A9 [2 S(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
1 m1 {. E8 k2 F1 Y* r+ K- v( `! ^+ e- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
