In general, key aspects of the role are:
# q; x, S7 @( A( k, P. [# q2 V6 C-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
: L: Q4 y8 j) @9 u-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
) m! b% T  G8 m% S-        Participate in peer reviews;
* f/ S* G% m) _* L5 x0 ~-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
-        Testing system changes;
) l$ {" w9 G" u/ ^  M-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
department’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
4 d  c, G" B% b. z8 b/ A-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
. l3 i8 e$ M  a/ |6 G0 a$ [6 W-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;
-        Lead short term projects;
* i7 {6 Z" E& w4 s/ u) @: K5 M-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
-        Excellent written communication skills;
' D7 S+ b8 n" [; K; i  T: M9 P-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure
effective delivery of service; and
! }/ F$ g2 f* j3 O8 H+ }7 R7 M- l-        Understanding of project management.

A. Mandatory Requirements
, I  @6 X, _. F0 o! E(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
) U' t& g+ y6 r* W) U6 P  K) p1 Ofor incorporating new technology.

(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

/ c# \( d& V9 g9 \(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

- g& I% ]( ^& N" j/ \(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.

(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

) h+ ]" J( u, ~  t% y3 B+ w/ j  _(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

8 q3 ]0 h4 W) i% @& w(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
) _, i% q, v  h$ ^* O! E2 L- Infragistics controls
: i% G2 u  Y, A' x/ e- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET
- Nunit
- Crystal Reports
- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
0 K! \  S- n8 x" ]7 ~- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
