Job Description:4 ]7 T6 u I& ], T! S& J
• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
& h5 {2 C6 {# {- b, K' }• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
) l# m3 f" L6 S, b+ j• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers: U+ d l/ h' F+ l+ i, {; J
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams A% R( n$ }" l5 U0 x6 N
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
$ g9 J2 P0 s& Z3 b& g% q" |+ Q1 ^- r• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
7 O: b5 {; q% M9 c• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
" c8 L. o9 I3 X3 A7 h' U• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
( w1 X/ |4 b( o6 [2 M" O• Mix paint, blend and match colors
& [$ P9 H _& k$ a* g• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns: N7 d/ N; \: N2 \3 `, {* P; S5 ~
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
" m4 S. U; A/ W* G7 X% L9 X• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation6 l8 p5 q/ \" m/ \' Q% }7 K3 R. X% U. k" \
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of secondary school is required: t P& P' R" G! T$ C" c8 A
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
