; I. c5 h+ B2 _1 Y7 IElectricians perform electrical inspection, maintenance, and repair activities on locomotives in the repair shop, on service tracks, or other railroad property. They have a good grasp of basic electronics, computer systems, fuel injector systems, and locomotive failures.

3 `9 o8 u* k4 R. E' OThey are also generally responsible for tasks such as:

or replacing small components

Troubleshooting electrical problems

Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment

Understanding and/or providing written, graphic, and oral instructions

Judging the condition of objects or parts for wear and or defects

Using tools such as a chisel, drill, fuse puller, and overhead crane
Qualifications:

At least one year of post-secondary education in a related program of study.

Good eye-hand coordination

Ability to frequently lifting weights up to 50 pounds

Occasionally lifting weights up to 100 pounds

Ability to do physical work, sometimes outdoors in extreme weather conditions

* w* p  G5 l4 v/ k0 F" m* TRegular exposure to dust, pollen, fumes, noise and vibrations

Candidates should expect to work weekends and shifts, especially nights and afternoons in support of a 24/7 operation.
