% J* E) e# ^  Z( m9 zAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
( D8 H0 k5 {7 F( T, Jpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
& k" t) x8 }! D3 c5 QThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

# |9 A$ ~' o3 y) I) Lproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
. g/ p- ^3 y) Y( c, q0 pThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
! A0 r( ^% K! Y) N3 C* T2 Pparticipants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
8 h- U- a3 r# c* Q' S& Bpersonal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
; I+ c+ T; }9 y, y. N5 h$ wAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
