YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
3 \4 O# Y2 G, O0 e9 \$ @nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
! z; `6 S7 M: y  z- E& I# Rpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
( a$ _4 a& y& _employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
' @) ?; S" R8 FThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
) o2 @) K5 R# g7 G" ^- |1 s2 h& Kthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
: X! Z; h: S: M8 X  ]participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
& t, T3 [( j% e, s4 D0 YAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
, J: m6 K7 d5 rand leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

2 S0 e% B9 M( r* A0 o2 E- ^% zVerto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
