Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
& L: {2 T/ {( ~+ K7 N5 w- Mnine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to; y7 i7 ?, e1 t) L1 `8 ?; ?$ m
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
! G9 P: E% b/ _The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded2 Z/ @8 _3 C$ ]% P6 z2 i

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
; o% l9 A# o& ~) Zemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”." H: ~" N* r7 h
The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
7 d. N% r S/ M5 ^. xthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose7 [2 a: h2 a& R" y E- M) V, p
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development," I+ l6 n! N( P
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
0 w6 U) r9 O' v) l aAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
7 A0 q& g6 Q, _2 c) `and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
# B- A5 f) j& H. c( Pfollow-up once the program is completed.
