, v. s9 W- q+ NYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
Advocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
nine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
. @8 f) r0 C% K* h, u5 o: Upeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
3 d. @4 I* w: L) x& hThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
0 @* s  t% ~7 J5 d4 G# kemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
, P& D( f- o/ r# `, \The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
8 o  \% |7 j% X( D+ z+ r* [participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
+ x% F* |. I0 M$ {7 W: |Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
4 D/ @) A3 }6 J/ w% a( {and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
. }! y, H) [6 nfollow-up once the program is completed.

YOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
