Volunteer Job Description

Position:        Youth Leader
Duration of Commitment:Summer T.A.N.G. Youth Program
Camp 1 – July 04 – July 14
: l! w! ^9 B  M. H, ~7 S) bCamp 2 – July 31 – August 11 (must attend an overnight camp on August 10 to 11)
# ?0 m( E$ \/ jTime:0915 to 1600(Regular Program Time)
*might work in other time in some specific days

Program Coordinator:        Daniel SUEN


Duties:
To assist the T.A.N.G. Youth Program Coordinator by providing clerical and/or activities support in the followings:

5 S" Z& y/ K: K% A0 z& |: P8 d6 J- B Distribution of promotion flyers to schools, churches, communities and relevant social agencies and professionals
 Take attendance if available
 Provide positive modelling to youth
+ e# [  v- M- I( O) \, \" ]% g Facilitate or assist in ice-breaking games and/or other activities
. t$ C% ^) y/ y; b  `' ~1 k  s Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
 Research activities related to the session’s topic upon advice of the Program Coordinator
 Watch out on the safety of youth either in centre or fieldtrips
 Report to the Program Coordinator for any doubts or concerns and/or any troubleshoot behaviour
 Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program Coordinator
, H5 x. y, S3 J Must follow guidelines or procedures stipulated in the manual/training
 Attend debriefing sessions/ongoing training
' U; s0 [8 B' H  Q9 r Assist in program planning/design
 Any other program related tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator

) p3 S/ I2 Q5 K4 R+ P( R Mature, sensible, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction
 Be open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youths in the program, or youth who is matched on an one-on-one basis
. |; ]' ^, k1 U. Y A team player, can get along well with other staff & volunteers
 Concentrate efforts in the group session or activities over other distractions
 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
9 b* i! G; k' h6 F& F+ ~! l Value building on strengths in children, youth and families
: I# f* F; M! y% M# ]: w Able to get along with youth and/or youth who might at risk
 Certain proficiency in English and Chinese
; H% o$ w/ [$ _5 O1 X1 g% b
