In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.& T7 c) W( j: {! A" \+ p- s

6 o6 W; b! E2 t1 n! H' PSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.

• conduct socio-economic market and policy research # ~5 o8 k+ J; ~ Q7 J* V5 N
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ( X+ o8 ^% @! X
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
4 F$ ?# E E! |• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
/ m& q! j; x/ ^5 ?8 M3 b• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits

• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
' y7 J$ Z5 f+ }) y( r1 y+ dPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
% f$ F) R h, `' d5 r3 Q• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
& K' E4 K8 ^; m3 P• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) % S7 k; U! d2 X0 ?
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required ) c4 ^/ \" v% z- T3 i$ T
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
: S1 j( M' x6 b4 B3 P• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
1 Q; z3 j) u) d% y; H• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 3 G' c% G1 ]) X" q( z& |

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
! q3 s3 w& |" Z7 e! j9 ?• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
" i6 x5 @% w5 h9 Q& L• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
" P0 k ?( J$ e% ~6 l3 m2 _• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
, ? I9 C) u9 [7 e4 l; P$ X- j# t• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience " i: T( r% A; u6 b, g# v7 ?
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
$ b- i( U: p4 o" A• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
+ y' X0 Z0 w- S4 I; m• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities % l5 A, B$ _6 E
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
% w6 L$ D" R8 t0 j' J8 Q9 G• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 9 s2 x& ^1 g& N5 R! X
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education $ P0 |. X# \6 m
• Content / curriculum development experience
0 @& F) g. m0 @% K$ v# D( d• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
; k! L4 _; c2 ~* S1 u7 N$ }# T: v• Excellent organizational skills
9 S0 {. @' p/ m) @5 ]* p( K• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset ' b, }# a5 @& H+ c6 t5 n
• Marketing and communication experience an asset
