In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.

• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
9 x" ]6 c$ G8 [& E• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ; w2 I1 g/ r: F( g' U: M
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation ; v* Y _; _- y* X% }4 K: c9 `
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs $ T1 \' m1 E6 [. T+ W
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
4 }8 n* j) f, \5 w• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
' ]' [5 t0 L: I4 T• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada 8 W& J8 u+ B6 G! W
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
* M. g% q2 @% h' R• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
6 V8 T- l& \6 x• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) , B- j$ _: `7 `2 b
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
! a* X- |5 E/ c9 W• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 0 _. t. a) w7 |5 T5 A% g- U
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
9 X' X4 }+ y# c$ W$ S3 l* n( X; n• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 2 P7 s0 {# |, S' N5 ^* T- v7 |+ u! s
Other Activities:3 A) x9 y6 U, h7 S& F3 H; z* k) n
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ' G/ z5 @; p2 Y
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
* O$ s1 P0 a5 Y5 \8 d4 i• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 8 E& Z9 Z8 z H$ }' ~ c( [
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ) g5 H& B l: e; E& T
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning / K; P; M* \7 |
Primary Qualifications: * R b7 U3 n4 ^/ D) l/ `9 }
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
4 Z, Q7 x( J* P" r% _& v( L9 m• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
0 ]5 W/ O+ K1 w& C5 ~• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
1 O9 y% d% q/ \0 t X• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
% Z3 z2 R& C1 U1 n• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams ) ~8 D( S7 a4 @1 S# U7 K& J7 O0 w
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals " `3 {9 i/ Q& p% z/ u" q
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
4 F* ~* s& t: `( w# `' L$ f• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
# J4 m! }. T' X6 ~• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc / t% {; `4 b6 p6 y" W
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners 9 X6 k, [ F4 H5 c: {3 D
• Excellent organizational skills
% M6 x9 ]8 n+ z5 N E• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. ]6 z, @: d6 X% a8 v/ s
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

• Marketing and communication experience an asset
