In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.- ]7 O7 j4 L; ^+ M. b

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
/ C6 a. h$ q3 @0 k HSEDI is staffed to: + v" b" V' O' M! O) {# g
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research . G3 |0 Q: |, q0 r% x1 d O# I' U9 V
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
: l' c( l3 M# S. r• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 4 T* [$ F( B% S9 T% T
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 8 K7 p: }/ R1 P# |& S
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits ! C/ X6 q! ?+ n7 z
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

) ~5 j0 m, i6 `3 _Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 1 y d* C0 J" r: J' a+ e/ Z
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 2 Y9 ?, ]; Q& P0 U9 c
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) u, x6 M/ z, j8 d* {- j" B
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
- |: F$ K6 o5 z* [• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities ' H5 P' a% A8 J% ^. a3 U* D- U
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team $ a' u& \8 N. C, K& K9 Q$ X2 _
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required & P u# B# ]% @; _. E/ a

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies $ E3 P- q B2 Z! {4 n' ]& \" [
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners 5 A3 ]* w# ]+ F6 s! Y" o
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
$ ]; l# k' K' E$ C• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
" x2 h2 e& a1 L0 C) m. g• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
; z/ T6 {/ z4 B' a8 C; @• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
) E k( z3 |( s9 p8 O, B# U# {• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
4 t% q- s% L; D5 T3 K; g7 |/ K' e• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
" ]+ f% [: @4 f7 m; P• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts : S" G2 E6 D U: F9 S$ n
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
, U- q. B7 h% T4 g• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
; v. n O# j+ d8 b4 j2 F• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 1 I* S+ O X3 a1 P2 C4 v
• Content / curriculum development experience
1 l+ k4 m) V% {• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
7 U3 R7 V" a+ v/ W! o4 J8 p• Excellent organizational skills - {7 Z# y0 U0 t# k4 o0 S% j9 Y
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
+ M9 d! E. Q+ `2 O* I0 S• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
3 w/ V# j- }: r8 V" k• Policy research skill set is an asset
4 d3 O0 L: ?7 B5 S) D( N8 P2 q• Marketing and communication experience an asset
