) Q/ T. g& f8 y+ g% |SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
( d( C+ V( s% ] o, b3 hSEDI is staffed to:
3 {5 y2 Q' x) P1 N, J• conduct socio-economic market and policy research ! W' I6 e; u0 B7 Z+ h- r
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
u. L8 l$ y' ^! E) K' q• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 3 g7 ?& A. Z# b: f' k
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
$ A# M% s" M# l$ D• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits ( V0 w. B& n( {/ z2 \3 C
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 7 X8 O* Y" n% x4 l! j) G# T
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada 2 I4 i6 I+ }, w4 ~* }# M
Primary Responsibilities and Activities: ! S5 n+ s" K8 w2 E T' Q
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
( T g7 A* M) U/ g• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 0 `: d# P$ Z6 B3 q- D, G* O/ m' F
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
# G, _2 R, x! J$ V. P4 c• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities # Z* m& [3 j+ O7 d
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
2 a; r& `; k) T7 x/ r. [( b& `• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required % j2 h( s& z' Q" p7 h0 G; |
Other Activities:
8 a; A. s* b- n2 X• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
1 m( Y7 c' `6 d% n1 L3 j6 s$ x4 S• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
& g9 ~- H7 a g- }1 c- G$ t• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
5 D3 k0 [9 V& u8 F• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports : x, S+ [* Y0 G9 Z) t( Y' k9 ~
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning ' W) ~* [4 P7 M* ]/ p* c
Primary Qualifications: ) E# _4 {% N( S
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 6 F: k3 d" P$ g2 m* {! a
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media & L( M, l) _1 O2 \* t! v
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
! D/ b: C- s- S( F1 G• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

; B/ T- U8 z% S2 D+ s• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. x1 A% T" _' }: m
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
