Position: Outreach Worker

" p7 |) k* z% f1 _+ gJob Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
4 e3 G# _: I, u! G4 ?- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
* g& D2 @: L) \- provide support to ISP staff
% P3 {! ], `( q7 N1 @9 ^% T- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
: H/ v* \# P* L5 w) L: V- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
& j( s2 n8 f' S; @* V( w' U7 T- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
) g; d/ M0 Q4 J( p3 X' V* w2 Y- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
* z) k9 k( R1 S- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
& g4 S& I7 t* f: S0 G! o; @$ G- good interpersonal and people skills
$ j! O/ _( t# I! T4 r7 m2 \3 X- good organizational and coordination skills

Salary
