Job Description
  }: G1 [; P2 R- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
& ^& k* I; V; G+ t6 B0 y- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
! x4 }) R8 u+ @3 l9 @- provide support to ISP staff
: w3 B$ [; ~+ r7 [- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
! l. r1 n, \, L. G( d9 m( j- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
; p9 l3 g3 H; Y1 |: V; U% E- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
+ V5 T# i' L' T0 K$ N- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
& Q3 M" L# a, {% s4 |! Y# G) @6 I- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
9 x/ T/ P& ?5 @8 _; b5 Y- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

& H+ c% e  V, F, v: xQualifications
7 n  d4 A: n8 _- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
; u2 F. o# P2 V$ F6 K- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
% e6 G7 [8 Z% q3 O. r4 f- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
2 J- }9 d3 h  w* N6 m( l- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
+ Y1 r" D* ~0 V3 f- good organizational and coordination skills
- valid driver’s license

Other
- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

4 F* V" z- ], M1 V- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
