 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
0 {- a# r1 |, v8 B  Z. R; L4 z  w Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.  w/ j5 u6 {" E! B* ?: h* C3 W
 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.
- z5 z" l7 g, B Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.' _" @; w# h% \! w: {0 Y1 h& @
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.; |0 ^3 z5 O! L% I# z0 A: B2 j

Settlement Counsellor; B2 H6 j9 E2 \0 a8 Q) _
 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.
2 }& e& e# Z: J, W: k% k Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.1 T; ^( V" Y8 I* J' G
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.) j( D! M# r) j  c7 d# @, l
 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers$ s/ t  y2 w) i) C" P
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
* H7 f- J! }7 g Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
% E; ]8 r6 t4 m4 t; r) \" |- z Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.& V+ k) N1 c+ }, u2 ?
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements./ m( J5 s# }% p0 r
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

Assessment Officer
& X2 T0 U3 m% M  P) Y8 ~2 v Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.$ P7 V# I* @( i8 g7 a# K
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
; _$ p" m0 O( L$ R' h Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.; \, Z2 C/ F. t2 B. s
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.9 T! L/ v  \& e- y- v
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
/ p9 T6 ^" G  R- f2 Q( N( U" d& E Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.  a% O6 J: f1 j( d& n$ X
 Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system

 Ensure participants’ progress is tracked and recorded

 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment' y  _; p/ V- x9 z
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
$ T, l* A6 q9 G4 m Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
6 I% O$ \3 V4 g# f& M  d1 K" ` Complete participant reviews with the participants6 f: q2 B9 V7 I- R- \$ \! S
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
