Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and making indicated repairs

Providing daily locomotive maintenance that includes changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts

Preparing inspection, work and maintenance reports

  K. }. E" k/ FFrequently lifting weights up to 50 pounds
Occasionally lifting weights up to 100 pounds

Working shifts, sometimes away from home
Basic technical knowledge of diesel

Using measuring devices and understanding visual displays
May need current, valid drivers license, CDL, and locomotive engineer certification
5 G9 G9 ?1 N% H0 oVisual acuity and hearing threshold tests are required for this position. Written pre-employment tests to become a Machinist Apprentice are required for this position. Completion of 3-year apprenticeship is required to become a Journeyman Machinist. This position is subject to night, weekend and holiday work hours when needed.
