Responsibilities
7 K# O( V, z+ {3 D Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
, g3 N5 {) c* w/ S5 E Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
) v5 L! L/ W8 f+ v( Q Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
/ P7 m' J/ `3 c  C! I% i) r; s9 s Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
5 r- B. k; o. E' M1 j% s# \& w Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

- o& G% Z. z4 {& q$ V, Y Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
9 E- }; \  I$ _# X: d* v Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
' p, ^. u' \5 F$ { Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
. Z! \' M+ U* [% V- n Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
4 N/ r- r1 `, ^+ F9 X Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
