 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
  b! K) x: o" h Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
) g" W! y2 L3 F9 B9 {+ V: w Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
! W0 l) m7 ^4 n  I7 O3 ^$ g% V Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
9 l) V% b& i& ?) e3 Y Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
$ ]( e7 ?* [1 w6 x" W$ j; [* T Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
$ ^  R2 r# s5 c, O# w3 ? Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
" V6 E7 s7 H$ A2 c6 k% Z+ A/ A8 j Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
. b5 I2 s1 I: B Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
6 B/ Z0 @) p6 D3 U4 C% L Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
