Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
4 U8 I7 N; E9 s5 W4 _9 l Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
, x  Q' x3 e; [! n Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
8 ^) y; n0 O, Q, G( }: ^ Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
4 K3 H8 d& G0 q: [. D) K Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
( C5 _) {3 d# B% z5 P Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
