Administration officials have long argued that there is no evidence school speed zones reduce the danger for children.0 ~. A# U& J1 U9 m* T
% h! ]4 W2 W$ q! m7 A"This is simply adding it to our set of solutions," Rick Millican, general manager of transportation, said. "Council is not saying if they approve it, put a school zone everywhere someone wants on.

Patricia Grell, with the Woodcroft area school council, says every school and playground should have lower speed limits.

"People are in a hurry, people are stressed out, they forget the speed limit and our children are very at risk when they are going to these places," she said.
