Key Responsibilities & Duties:

7 B6 c1 N! Q* O1 b# v& u1 O Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.$ X: e1 G  ~( t. w# z0 |
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.. v  V! I& [0 T1 m& i, |
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.2 j3 N. t8 W6 {- b3 B
 Completing required paperwork.3 J9 X" a! O2 v: f' U" _
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 O8 q5 [  s6 c- O Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
& N, d0 N) F4 H2 r Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
0 v' Y- o) ~( ~5 ^, `$ s Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
/ t5 P) g6 N8 Y5 @/ I Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
0 }. X# b4 e% w. f- y3 C5 O Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.8 y( @3 d6 E( f/ ]- ^% I

2 B: ]9 g" e& w+ N" z9 E" P- p, ^) A8 `7 S( Q: ^, X
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
  G+ M  g5 z" Q4 v  O/ n2 L: n/ y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 x/ w: s  u7 f0 i0 q1 c: d Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
; N& s7 T+ S5 @ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.$ q2 b; ?4 g' |* n+ P
 Knowledge of community resources.2 c* a7 W, S! k4 f; p. q9 d
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.5 K1 k3 W0 d  o, l5 C+ H+ l
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. & _* f& q, p7 q2 u& f- O% O
& O3 F! r* ^3 y- O
Position:
+ Z# V) o' R6 |2 bThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006. $ \; W5 v8 l6 ]
There is a 3-month probationary period. 8 r" b. n1 M+ W& F) ~" l% h5 U* I
